Thankfully I am high and dry but I really appreciate your offer, very "Buffetty".

Did you make it out or are you stuck? I can't believe my eyes this morning watching the news. We had dinner before the concert at Joe's Crab Shack....the front entrance is completely under water now. We had lunch Saturday at Demo's and it is underwater as well. The Doubletree on 4th Ave. where we stayed has been evacuated and is taking on water as well now. I feel so bad for the city of Nashville and these people losing their homes and businesses. I hope all of you have made it out safely!beachbette wrote:Hope you get home safe and sound!! I'll be anxious to hear your report of how the roads are between Nashville and Knoxville.....we opted to stay over one more night and head back to Sevierville tomorrow!Bob Roberts wrote:Well, we had a super time at the show last night! I feel bad for all the people that are being affected due to the weather. We are getting ready to check out of our hotel, get some brunch, and try to head home towards Knoxville. Hopefully, I'll be posting on here soon that we've arrived home safely.

Mr. Irishcajun works near the double tree at 4th and Union. He had to go move their computers out late last night. He is now going to attempt to go down there to work. I told him of the flooding, but as a man. . . .he has decided to try to get down there. I have to go take a quick shower due to water conservation issues. We are being asked to conserve due to pumping and water stations being flooded. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.Bob Roberts wrote:Did you make it out or are you stuck? Holy smokes. Can't believe the hotel was evacuated -- we were just there yesterday morning!!!! All the best to you and Mr. Irishcajun. He's a trooper to be down there at work. I'll tell you -- if the downtown area looked like that, and the mayor himself had encouraged people to skip work -- I'd probably listen!!! But kudos for him, someone's got to be down there.irishcajunphan wrote:Mr. Irishcajun works near the double tree at 4th and Union. He had to go move their computers out late last night. That was freaky. Now the water is up up up in downtown Nashville. How sad. I hope everybody else made it home ok. I know there were some who stayed put because the way home was unpassable.
On to happier stuff:
I was SHOCKED AND HAPPY to see BalconyGirls, BalconyGirls#2, and RagtopW WAYNE THERE !!! What a surprise they were !! I'm so glad I met a certain Auntie and friend and TikiBar. What fun you guys are ! And Tom and Pam and Marningritaguy (what a hugger you are !) and the Nashville Parrothead clubbers (Kat and PHMike) and the southern Illinois club (how cool are you guys with your matching shirts---all ninety thousand of you !). I love all you guys.
Tall Paul and Quincy and the rest of Ramajay Int. were amazing. What fun Rippy's was Saturday. I think Kristie likes shotskis.![]()
I must apologize to Paul for doing the falsetto singing along with "Walking In Memphis". Check out the youTube video of him doing that song and you will understand.
Three BN girls were sitting close to the stage and in the lights and I saw Jimmy wave at them. Yes I did.
And dnw and Karacal were on the big screen in a video !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEEHAW !!!!
Right now, I'm loving being a member of the Parrothead Nation.

Holy crap! poprcornjack and PORT were there!!!???? I'll need to catch up on details later.SchoolGirlHeart wrote:Citcat, I saw your from across the room at Rippy's but by the time I waded across you were gone.Next time!!

But the real news is somebody (I'll keep a secret maybe) got lei'd in Nashville at our pre-concert party and then I get home (at 1am after finding 3 roads that can get me home are closed due to flooding) to find this Facebook page:

Thanks for the great "divorce party"
Mr. Irish Cajun is a travel agent. There are a lot of displaced people he's helping. I spoke to him a bit ago. He had a client wanting to know if her dog was ok at a boarding place prone to flooding. I had actually been out there to help evacuate a dog with a broken leg and was able to tell him that all was well, but the phones were out. Hopefully, we eased a pet owner's mind.LandSharkEric wrote:Holy smokes. Can't believe the hotel was evacuated -- we were just there yesterday morning!!!! All the best to you and Mr. Irishcajun. Can't believe what Nashville looks like today. Unreal. It is validating my decision to get up and get out yesterday. The missus and I had planned to have breakfast somewhere, make a stop at Trader Joe's (we don't have them in Birmingham) but after I watched half an hour of weather reports yesterday AM, I turned to her and said "we're out of here."
I-65 southbound was fine to B'ham. One spot under the I-440 overpass flooded -- NB lanes completely shut, SB side narrowed to a single lane. But other than that, we got home without incident.
