Houston show May 20th
Can someone tell me what the tailgating is like at the Woodlands Pavillian in Houston is like? We're planning our 2010 Buffett pilgramage and haven't seen him there before, just trying to get some feedback on the pre concert party scene. Went to Cincinnati last year and had a blast, but the Houston show works best for us this year. Anyone?

If it's anything like it was in 2008, there's hardly any tailgating to speak of at the Woodlands. There was a pre-concert party in front of Tommy Bahamas at the town center. That was pretty fun. Certainly wasn't a tailgate party, though.
On the up-side... sitting on the lawn in the cool night air with friends for the show was FANTASTIC. Sonny Landreth was there and did a solo at intermission, singing USS Zydecoldsmobile. Fantastic set list that night (with the exception of Glory Days. ewww). As far as pure concert-atmosphere, though... it was grade-A.

First welcome to BN!!!
It's my understanding The Woodlands does not allow tailgating. You'll have to find a pre-party.

Yup---no tailgating allowed around venue property. The parking lots are privately owned and used until after work hours. There is the Woodlands Mall, but no tailgating allowed either.MrTwain wrote:If it's anything like it was in 2008, there's hardly any tailgating to speak of at the Woodlands. There are big officers on big horses that will tell you to move.

Hoping a private party will be planned at the Market Street, but nothing yet.

I told MrsTwain that we need to go to The Woodlands for the show, and to Frisco for the party!springparrot wrote:Yup---no tailgating allowed around venue property. Re: Houston show May 20th
Just joined this forum.... I am planning on going to the show. I have never been to the Woodlands Pavillion. I have noticed several folks here comment that they prefer the lawn seating. Can anyone give pros / cons on purchasing reserved seats vs. the lawn? Appreciate any help you can provide. This will be our first JB event and want to make it the best!!
