I've been to several including Houston, KC, Starplex, Irvine, Vegas, Denver and Frisco. Of those Frisco is the hands down winner but definitely want to experience Cinci and Great Woods. Just need to find someone to finance the trip.
Dallas, Kansas City, Houston, Denver, Irvine, Frisco, and Vegas
Frisco was great and Mr. Play does a wonderful job and all, I just didn't like the layout. There seem to be too many small parking lots divided up by a bunch of soccer fields.
Haven't been to GW or Cincy, so I can't compare, but I do have some love for Irvine!

You're love's put me at the top of the world
Tampa tailgate might be small compared to Frisco, etc., but we certainly have a great time with Adrian and Z's great set up along with John Frinzi playing.
wish i could say ive been to a ton of venues but I can say I have never missed a Starlake/now fist niagra..and its gotta be on the short list, set ups, great people, tons of phun!!! and for those who enjoy the sights of the finer sex earning their beads...we sure got that too.So my vote gotta be Pittsburgh!!!
Pittsburgh. But then again I've never been to Cinn. or Great Woods. But I found
"Starlake" to be better than Camden, Bristow, Merriweather Post, or Atlantic City.
I've been lucky enough to have been to the "big 4" shows (Frisco, Cincy, Alpine, Great Woods) I have to say, they are all great tailgates. Each one has a different appeal... From Frisco, my "home" tailgate, to GW - I have had off the hook fun at all of them.
For me, it is the company you keep that makes a tailgate. At all of them, the BNers are welcoming to any out of towners and help you out with getting food, booze and transportation if you need it.
Now having said that I'm gonna tell you all that I really really really WISH Jimmy would return to The Gorge at George. There isn't a more beautiful backdrop for a concert on the face of the earth. The Parking lot is huge and across the street is a Camp Ground that allows all night party's. It doesn't get any better then that.
SAVE THE EARTH
It's the only Planet that has chocolate.
I have to agree with Penny and Janice...it's not always the venue but the people you're with....AND sometimes the setlist. I often hear songs on RM and it takes me back to a show I heard him play it at. A perfect example of that is the Hurricane Hannah show at GW back in '08 when Jimmy sang "Stars on the Water" as the rains came...what a magical moment. Anytime I hear that song, when I hear Jimmy sing "Let it rain", I remember looking back towards the lawn and seeing it pour and the people out there go crazy with excitement. WOW!
Many of us come to BN because of Jimmy's music, but stay because of the friends we meet. The same can be said of the concerts. We now have traditions at GW that go on the day between the shows, and call the 4 days of concerts, beaches and bars....Great Woods Weekend. The events before, between and after the concerts are important to the overall experience, but it's the people that make it so.
This is like trying to pick which child you like best. Each one is different and you love them all the same. Pick one, go to it, meet up with some BN'ers and have a good time.
I must be biased because I live here but I enjoy Indy. I always hear people bashing on it but I enjoy it because everybody meets in the parking lot and tailgates there. You don't have to drive all over looking for a place to park, walk to the party, go back to the car, and then drive to the venue. I have been to Cincy but honestly like Indy more. I will have to report back about Alpine Valley as that is the road trip we have planned for this year.
I think I'll take my shoes off and go walking
Down beside the Carribean Sea
I like the funny sounds of parrots squawking
I think I hear a hammock calling me

All that said, I've never been to a bad show
It was one of the best times I have ever had in my life
I'm growing older but not up!

Concert(s) as in plural . . . beaches - as in actually going to one that looks like Cahoon Hallow on Cape Cod - and bars (where CRB plays) . . . all three of those with a world class (literally people from all over the world) tailgate with a massive sailing culture (because that is the type of people I like at my Buffett shows . . . rowdy, non PC, and nows how to be the Last Man Standing type of person) happens at just one ventue . . . just one; And I agree . . . it is the best, by far.
the hit and run is as good as any religion around this time of year . . .

Yes Indy is a great show also. I love having the Sleepybear a couple hundred yards from the entrance to Deer Creek. I stayed there for the 04 show and met lots of great people. The campground isn't much on amminities, but it is a safe walk back after the show. I wish more venues had camping so close. You don't have to wait for the lot to open to start the tailgate party.

It was a feeble attempt to re-kindle the VERY heated Vegas cancellation debate of last year. (i.e. Jimmy don't owe us nothing!!!!)
