Its going to be like 1000 degrees down there in July :o :o :o
Yeah...probably. We'll be dropping through there for a day during a cruise so I'll only be there for like 9 hours...then back on the boat. :(

Hey Papa T - If you've never been to Key West you can have a great time in 9 hours. It's all in planning - knowing what watering holes you need to hit so you don't waste time thinking about your next stop. I might suggest the Turtle Crawl, Carolines, Hog's Breath, and certainly Captian Tony's for starters. I guess you should probably stop at Sloppy Joe's if you were never there. All are close to the spot the cruise ships dock. By the way - it's not 1,000 degrees at the corner of the bar at Captain Tony's. Have fun

Thanks! I actually went on a cruise 2 years ago that went to Key West. We went to Captain Tony's, Margaritaville, took a picture at the southernmost point, and ate at a little outside seafood place at the dock beside Buffett's recording studio. Overall, it was nice but I would like to see a little more this time. You know the best restaurant to eat at?

We've been there on a cruise as well and focused our attention on the tapping establishments. We ate at the Hard Rock - not unique - but OK. I think Caroline's had a nice looking menu and nice casual cafe feel. If you want food on the run - check out B.O.'s fish wagon. It's on the edge of a parking lot behind the Turtle Crawl. According to friends who vacation there each winter, the guy who runs this fishes in the morning (if he feels like it) and is open for lunch. No fish means no lunch. The place doesn't look like much - a shack basically - but it's unique to Key West for sure. You may get better advice from someone who frequents Key West more than I do.

Forgot to mention Papa T - you may want to check out the Conch Train which will give you a tour of what there is to see in Key West.

Okay. Thank you so much! I like small unique places. That's usually where you find the best stuff. :)
