A mutual friend of Wil Shriner, informs me that Wil and Jimmy are working on a sequel to the movie ''Hoot''. It's supposed to be called ''Splash''. He wasn't sure if it was about dolphins or whales. My thought was don't rule out manatees. Anyhow, the process of obtaining environmental permits is in the works.

Hope so, but can't commit right now. We just dropped some coin on a house in KW for MoTM, and still have to get our tix for GW, get our sailboat in the water and a few other things.....if the bank account is fat enough, I'm gonna try to come down for Saturdays show.
Any chance of seeing you in KW this November?

We've never made it to MOTM despite our best intentions......but we are going to KW in April, Bermuda in June, and just had to unexpectedly replace our furnace in the house. I doubt that I can fit MOTM in the 2010 family budget now! :(

It wasn't about the ratings. It was about the message.

'cause he wants to?

To entertain?

To tell a story?

'cause it's fun and he can give himself a role and be an actor? 8)

Well you do know that "Splash" was the 2nd children's book that he wrote, but it is not the sequel to "Hoot". I read both books and the only connection between the 2 is the location of Florida and the basic plot. But I did like the reference to Buffett in "Flush".

What is "Splash"? The only young adult/kids books by Hiaasen that I've read are Hoot, Flush and Scat. Is Splash new?

As far as the movie goes, anything I read following the release of Hoot, Jimmy made it seem like it would be a long long time before he was involved with a movie again. He didn't seem to be a big fan of the process.

Ole' Gardner is just the messenger. That blurb came from a very good source. Maybe it's just a working title, might end up being ''Splish Splash''. I wouldn't expect to see it for quite a while, they're only in the permit stage. If the project flies, I'm thinking sometime in late 2011. As far as ''Hoot'', in my opinion it was a nice little enteraining movie, geared for young people. But then again, I'm just growing older, not up.

Yes, it is a daysailer! Its actually 1960. One of the first they ever made. I just sold it this past fall and almost bought a flying scott. Really nice boat. Ended getting a fixer upper mariner instead :-? :-? :-? Now i'm questining that decision.

Wasn't the name of that book SCAT and it was the 3rd? I thought I had read them all.
