Just a note of thanks to Mr. Buffett from a longtime fan
I don't post here much and I'm sorry if this is inappropriate or just stuck in the wrong spot on the boards.
My Dad passed away back in October, I know we all are going to prolly experience that loss at one time or the other. Anyway while we (the immediate family, my Mom, my brother and I) were standing by the coffin side meet and shake line, I kept looking at Mom and wondering how I would be able to watch over her the way she is going to need me to now and in the future. You see she has probably one of the worst cases of Rheumatoid Arthritis I have ever seen in my 45 years.
Thats when the words came to me from out of the back of mind where stuff I like but really can't see no need to waste memory space on resides.
"According to my watch, the time is now
The past is dead and gone
Don't try to shake it, just nod your head
Breathe in, breathe out, move on
Dont try to explain it, just bow your head
Breathe in, Breathe Out, Move on…."
Thats when I realized that I knew what I had to do at that time, that I'd just (as my Dad would tell me when I was growing up) "Back my ears down and deal with it" as life flings it at me.
Thanks Jimmy, I know you'll probably never see nor hear of this post and that's cool. But I had to try and say thanks because thats the way I was raised.
The Ipod just shuffled this one to the play slot for the first time I guess since it ran through my mind that night, so I decided to come in here and try to post a simple thanks before I managed to forget it.

Sorry to hear about your loss. Been down that road, not an enjoyable journey at all.
The best advice I got during the entire experience was "while it never stops hurting, it does stop hurting quite so often."
Best wishes as you and your family walk this path together.

While the tears come from posts like this, wildh20skier, your sharing is a way of dealing and healing and "moving on." God bless you and your family as you reach another passage in this wild, wonderful thing we call LIFE.
Anytime you feel the need to share, BN is a great place, and nobody knows just what reaches Jimmy...it's the "vocalizing the feelings" that help. Your dad would smile and be very proud of you. I know you must be a great comfort and help for your mom.
I'm sure the other writer of that song may read that post and smile a smile for you.
Now we can smile too.

I too have been through what you are going through. No it isn't easy, but time really does help.
It is hard to move on, but just keep breathing and remembering all the good time ya'll had as a family.

You and your family will be in my prayers.....
But what a great post.......those lyrics really do make you think about life and how we choose to live it!

On most days I say: "Wrinkles only go where the smiles have been...."
Sometimes I can only say: "There is no dumbass vaccine......"
If something or someone gets you down, just remember: "In a hundred years it all won’t matter.........."

Echoing what conched said...especially the part about what reaches Jimmy. As I post this the site is showing only two people here, myself and 1 (anonymous) guest. Who knows? Maybe that's Jimmy or one of his people right now....conched wrote:![]()
