Johnny Cash American VI Ain't No Grave

Post by jbfinscj »

I picked up Johhny Cash's latest CD today and what is to be the final in the American Recordings series. I didn't know what to expect when I picked it up knowing that these songs were recorded during the last three months of his life. The album is a perfect finale to such a remarkable career. I put the CD on and just let it play, it is without a doubt the perfect farewell from the Man in Black. I cannot really put into words just how good this album is. Do yourselves a favor and drop the $10 at Wal Mart and get this album!
I'm back to livin' Floridays

Although I genuinely enjoy JC and the American series, I thought this was not the best. Now, having said that, the single, Ain't no grave is fantastic! There are a few on this album that I really do like and a couple that I can really do without. I thought IV was the best of the series. I wouldn't want to be without any of them, but like all music, some just hits more solid than others.
