Hey Parrotheads ..one thing is for sure...
Margaritaville Middle East was a hoax that even got me. I talked about it on the air on my Saturday Night Beach Party show 4.3.2010 on Radio Margaritaville, without doing my usual fact checking.

I had to laugh when I realized someone bamboozled me with a clever April Fools joke.

Miles, thanks for posting an update abou this. We all appreciate it. Sorry that happened to you. Seems like this april 1st we all had an encounter with a jokester.
Anyway, since we're on the subject of Margaritaville Cafes. You wouldn't happen to know anything about the current status of the transaction for the location in Atlantic City? We're all very anxious to hear some positive news about it.

Hey Miles, good to hear from ya!
Was listening too but not necessarily concerned about all fact checking.
Guess they already locked that thread up real good so this is the next best place to post.
The locked thread is here:
Margaritaville Middle East (hoax)
Thanks for the clarification and... btw.... What do you know about Atlantic City Margaritaville?
And as always, thanks for being part of RM and all your updates here at BN!

Funny, but at first I thought as many times as JB likes to visit with and honor our troops that an M-ville in the Middle East for their benefit would be a possible thing!
But, then, common sense kicked in and I realized it was April 1......
Still Atlantic City, NJ could be a nice central point for Parrotheads from Washington, Baltimore, Philadelphia, and New York to enjoy......

Is there a sliver of hope in the 11th paragraph?

We'll take the sliver. Can't hurt.
I still do think it is possible for this to work out. It's is going to take time but as long as Jimmy is still interested it could work. Since this location has a marina and is on the upper east coast I'm guessing that he still is interested. I really hope so. A Margaritaville casino/resort would be the best possible thing that could happen to Atlantic City. It would generate a lot of interest, offer work and boost the local economy. It would also be a great spot for all us Parrotheads to play and relax. Lets face it, with the ecomomy the way it is there are a lot of of the phlock in the PA, MD,NY, NJ, DE, OH area who will be able to get to FL maybe once a year to the new resort down there because of the distance. Also not everyone is going to want to deal with the inconveniences flying presents these days for only a short weekend. So a resort that we could all visit on a regular basis would be perfect and so welcomed.

Thanks for sending the link to the article. Please keep us posted.
It is better news than what it could be. I'm thinking Jimmy may still be interested. I doubt there are that many opportunities to buy a marina around these days. So if that matters to him he may still have his people talking to them. From being in the property many times for events etc. I still say it is an excellent location for the type of resort JB would build.
Please let us know if you hear anything else.

I hope they call it a Coastal Marina Casino and then have a Margaritaville there?

Contrarian that I am, I think this has as much chance of happening as the one in Biloxi. And didn't they stop working on that about 2 years ago?

I do think that recently they said the project in Biloxi was called off indefinitely.
I could be wrong but I think the reason it may work out in Atlantic City is that the building is already there. It will only need remodeled. They did the same thing for the beach resort in Pensacola and it worked out very nice. Also they can get the Marina at a very good price. So I can see some hope of this coming to be after all. We'll just have to wait and see. One thing is for sure, if it works out it will be a big plus for AC. So heres hoping!!

Today's headline on the BN main page says the latest offer from Coastal was not even replied to by the current owners.......
Stick a fork in the AC M-ville idea.....me thinks she's done.....over and out

You may right. But I don't understand this. Trump is going to be forced by the courts to sell the property. If Coastal was willing to put half the payment into escrow it sounds like they were serious and are definitely interested. Even if Trump doesn't respond couldn't the bankruptcy force him to take the offer?? If so, we're back in. Your thoughts??

As a banker I've been through many corporate bankruptcy issues in my career and, without knowing NJ law, you could be correct about Trump being forced to at least seriously consider Coastal's offer.
However; I think the bigger picture is the continued economic slump and its affect, long term, on AC. With neighboring states now allowing casino gambling AC may simply have too many properties for the future demand and some, including the Trump Marina, may just need to close.......

I agree with you that some properties may need to close. However, know JB's track record of successful business deals it would sure be in there best interest to not let him get away. His resort could possible be what helps AC hang on. They sounded interested if they were going to put 1/2 the money in escrow immediately. There has got to be more to this story. If I remember correctly Trump isn't running the show here. The courts control this now and if noone has gotten back to
him there had to be a reason for it. I really doubt if there is anyone else out there that is a serious buyer.
I don't like what the states are doing regarding building casinos everywhere.
AC will always get my business. Loosing money and going home that night a short distance away holds no appeal to me. At least with AC or Vegas if your not winning at least you get a vacation out of it.

At issue still is The Donald's hairpiece. Jimmy wants it. Once that's settled this may go through.
