Kohl's is a great store for tropical things... I have a bunch of frames from there and the clip photo holders as well! Shirts too! I have to pay on the charge today, I will have to stop and shop before going to the farm!

Grocery Stores and Target are starting to have some of the tropical jell-o flavors come out.

The Dollar stores and the $1 bin at Target are great.

Check E-Bay, I bought 100 glow in the dark bracelets for $11.

Happy Shopping

A co-worker was telling us about a new bodywash scent out by Suave. It is mango mandarin. At the stores around here it is under $2 a bottle. I know Target and WalMart and most of our local grocery stores carries it.

Not exactly shopping but a couple suggestions for your lunch/dinner break. Hey we all need to refule to have the energy to shop. :)

Burger King has introduced a new Cilantro lime fish sandwich.

Taco Bell still has their fruit Frutisia drinks. Our favorite is the Mango/Strawberry. We always just order it without the Strawberry.

I'd been eyeballing it for awhile but had managed to talk myself out of it every time. Today I caved...but the first one I picked up was $12.99. Then I walked over to the clearance aisle and they had the same platter...but that one was $5.00. So back went the first one. No reason why one should have been marked down and not the other, but there isn't a lot of rhyme or reason to those stores. A lot depends on what date it came in...so a later shipment of the same item won't be marked down but an earlier one will be. I was doing the happy dance! I was afraid when it rang up that they'd say it was mismarked, but I didn't have a problem. Probably should have asked about the other one, but didn't want to press my luck. It really is cute!

I love the platter. It is sooooooo cute!!

Very good shopping. That was an excellent price. Way To Go!!

What other pieces do they have in that collection.

Not sure if we have that store here near us in PA but I'm going to check.

Thanks for posting the picture. :)

Macy's here is just starting to get their spring/summer items out.

They have a display of summer melamite dishes. With it are a set of drink stirrers. Half are topped with lemons and the other half are topped with limes. Very cute!!

I looked it up last night...there is one in Fairlawn near Summit Mall. I'm going there today.

I think there also might be one in North Olmsted by Great Northern Mall.

I did the same thing last year with a 3D sand castle drink dispenser that was at Target. I already had one from the previous year (a 3D Tiki Bar) so kept talking myself out of buying it. Then I went in one day at the end of the season and discovered they were like 75% off and only had one left. Soooooooo, I got it for under $10. I'm glad I got it cause it was so unique. Reminds me of the Sandcastle artist and his work that we met on Ft. Lauderdale beach. :) :)

Love the platter, BEG! I swear I'm the queen of talking myself out of a purchase then regretting it later.
Hey Kruzin - I bought the same "Birds of a Feather Party Together" shirt that you did at Kohl's. I got mine on sale then added my coupon and got it for only $11! My problem is that I'm only 5'3" and the sleeves come down to my elbows! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the picture so I'm wondering if I could somehow cut it out, turn the edges under and sew it onto a ladies t-shirt that hopefully fits me.
You all have got to check out SlipperyBrick.com and enter shark fin ice cube mold - these I just can't live without! Pricey, but too cute!!! I wish I knew how to put the pic up for you to see.
Got to tell you - we're going to Anna Maria Island in May and renting a funky lime green house named none other than: Parrott Eyes! Any Buffett Newser would be right at home in it!

Fins, I LOVE that shirt. This week I'm buying another one for an Easter gift.

Your idea might work about putting the design on another shirt that would fit you better. Have you priced out what it would be to take it to a tailor and have it sized down for you. it may not be that expensive. Just a thought.

Will definitely check out the ice cube tray. Am not familiar with that site so am anxious to check it out.

Hmmmm, a cute gree house!! Are you renting it via an agency? If so, is there a photo of it online?? Would love to see it.

You may want to mention it on the Changes in Latitudes thread. With vacation season approaching there may be others here who are looking to find a place like that!! :) :)

Have you been there before? Love the name of the house!!

Details.......Details.......We want to hear all about your shopping excursion!!
I bought a beautiful tropical shirt, a little solar-powered tiki man with glowing eyes (to match his bigger, taller brother I bought last year), a tropical sign, a tiki plastic drink glass with curly straw for my 'beverages' at the tailgate, outside decorations for our pool area. I almost bought two more plastic yard flamingoes but being as we already have a flock, I'm gonna spend the rest of the money on glass gazing balls to replace the FOUR that I lost late last summer in a big windstorm. I actually had tears in my eyes when I heard the explosions. Took me two days to get all the glass out of the pool. Needless to say, I won't be putting them on concrete anymore.

Great idea about the tailor, Kruzin. I'd do it right away if I liked the color of the shirt more. I didn't want to do black for the summer (see enough of it during our looooong winters!) so I got the "burnt orange" and it looks terrible on me. I look dead in it! Now I have to decide if I want it to possibly look goofy with it being cut out or have it fit me well but make me look like death warmed over!
We're renting the house from Anna Maria Island Accomodations, Inc. We've never been there so hope it all works out. I only wish it was on the beach but it looks like it's only a block up and less than a block over. We looked at a lot of pictures of places on the beach, but none seemed to have the character that this place does. The site is: annamariaparadise.com/parrotteyes.htm.
I read about the shark fin ice cubes somewhere else and googled them. That site seems to have the best price on them. They really are just too cute! ~^~

So I ran by the other Home Goods today to see if I could find any more clearance 'mingos. No luck. I did spot the first platter I looked at, not on clearance. I think the reason I held off on it was because although it was cute and a 'mingo, I wasn't completely enamored with it. The one I found the other day I loved on the spot, and I knew I wouldn't have talked myself out it...so definitely two different platters. The first one was smaller, same price, and just a leeetle bit different. If he'd been on clearance I would have bought him. I took a pic with my phone:

I also ran to TJ Maxx cuz I am on a mission to find a pair of Merrel shoes in a bigger size, the 7s I found are just a bit short. I think I showed remarkable restraint in passing up THIS:
Image

:o
Seven bucks...but I honestly couldn't figure out what I could really do with it...it would stand out like a sore thumb with my current decor.... I have to draw the line somewhere... :wink

edit: I apologize if the second pic is showing up huge...I have resized it 5 times and although it shows small on photobucket, it keeps showing up big here. Don't know if that is just on my end or not...it's driving me nuts. :-?

For anyone working with keets this summer and is looking for craft kits with a tropical or pirate theme. I just received in the mail the craft catalog from Oriental Trading. They have a good assortment of kits to make magnets and picture frames etc. The prices seem reasonable as well.

Found the Coconut M & M's last night at a local Sheetz convenience store/ gas station. It was in the regular candy display. I almost missed it cause last season it had a special display. So remember to check with the regular candy.

This is the only place I've seen it this year. Although Giant Eagle has signs up advertising it. They do not have it in stock yet.

Has anyone checked Wegmans yet to see if they carry it?
