Panama City Beach Florida under a Buffett show watch?
Jimmy has never played @ Margaritaville in PCB. He will be in Tampa April 24th, Atlanta April 27th and Nashville May 1st. So he is going to have a few days to kill nearby. Figure in a quick drop in at Lulu's on Orange Beach and then a "surprise" show @ M.V. PCB since he is in the neighborhood with a few days to kill.
So the Buffett Sighting Early warning service gives those two venues at least a 65+% probability of someone dropping by in the last week in April. Although with the Thunder Beach Bike Rally @ PCB that week and the Mullett Toss at the Flora-Bama (another of his old haunts) the last weekend in April he may choose to make his appearance at some other time. Of course smart money also sez that it would be a chance for him to get his name and brand out to huge crowds. And Jimmy is nothing if not a savvy business man.
But he will probably appear in late March Early April with the bullseye date being March 31st. Aghain this is just based on my studying of human behavior pattern.
Discuss.

Sounds possible. If I was a PCB local, I'd definitely want to get on some staffers' "immediate text message" list in the event of an appearance. It would be my fear that he'd show up right down the road from me, completely unannounced, and I'd totally miss it.

You read my mind. Waiting for that coconut telegraph to ring. If he's not doing Jazz Fest, he might consider the Emerald Coast as a destination.MrTwain wrote:Sounds possible. From a recent interview:
Is there a chance you’ll give a surprise performance at the Nashville Margaritaville?
“There’s always that chance. Let’s just say the track record, if you look back, I think I’ve played every one of them. The only one I haven’t played in is Panama City, and I’m going to do that pretty soon. I’ve got to do it when I come in and out. And it’s fun, it’s fun to have people you see there and to go back and do them. I was a bar player from the beginning, and I still kind of think of myself as a bar player.”

Re: Panama City Beach Florida under a Buffett show watch?
OK I haven't been to PCB in years. The last time I was down there the only reason I went was to get one last ride on the roller coaster before the Miracle Strip became just another victim of the condo kudzu that has strangled the uniqueness out of the town.
So I have no idea where the Margaritaville is there nor the layout of the area. How would a quick in and out be feasible? What will the traffic patterns be like?
Based on your spotting that in the interview and his recent playing of the 18 wheeler trailer in New Orleans before that football game where he just popped out of a limo unannounced I'm raising the forecast to at least a 70% chance of an unannounced pop in show in early April.
You lucky dogs.
I would like to pint out that I am not in any shape form or fashion associated with Jimmy Buffett or any of his friends or family. I'm just a guy stuck in Central Alabama in the late winter figuring I can do as good forecasting Buffett as my local weaher goobs can in forecasting snow.
But if he does show up I want someone to yell "WildH2Oskier (Wild Water skier) forecasted you being here now!
Meanwhile I'll be getting ready to enjoy my rooftop behind the stage seats in Nashville or as I have taken to referring to them...seats with built in backstage passes.
Good luck.

Yep, we are hearing the rumors. This is a real fear of many around here, but we might have it covered...I hope
Oh and traffic...Getting around Pier Park will be impossible! Luckily I can walk if I have to!![cheeky-grin [smilie=cheeky-grin.gif]](./images/smilies/cheeky-grin.gif)

The reason you want to know about traffic patterns is so you will have some idea as to how long it will take him to arrive, sing and depart. It is important to know your window of opportunity before you can make other plans. Also what time of the day has he historically shown up for these drop in shows? I'm willing to bet that if you dug around here in the forums and in the news parts of Buffett news there are patterns and clues that can help you narrow your planning.

Waiting.....
Waiting.....
When will BNers start asking Wildh2oskier to predict all kinds of Jimmy-related stuff.....occasional Caribbean shows, new Margaritaville product lines, surfing encounters, individual city shows setlists, the FINAL concert tour, blah, blah, blah......
Wildh2oskier - you better move to Vegas and get rich quick or run away and hide from all the long, lost relatives about to come out of the woodwork.

Am I violating any forum etiquette by quoting MYSELF?looking4OPH wrote:the FINAL concert tour
Do you ever wonder what Jimmy will actually say instead of "...but NOT YET!"? Has this been discussed before? Why does it feel like a familiar question......

Fwd from other forum:
Wow, what a great experience! Yes to see Buffett in a small venue is a PH dream come true.
I got the call around 3:30 yesterday and was told to get to Margaritaville that Jimmy was going to be there between 4:00 or 5:00. So away we went! When we got there other friends were already there and the place was just starting to get crazy. The "secret" was out! We FINALLY got seated after 45 minutes! The place got packed quick!! A little before 5:00,The Barry Fish Band started to play. They played three songs when Mac poked his head out and came on stage. The place went wild over Mac! He played a couple of songs, when Jimmy was spotted and the place ERUPTED!! This was incredible!! Jimmy talked about his roots and being from the Gulf Coast. With a little help from my friends, I am still trying to get the EXACT set list but here is what I can remember
:
Mac McAnally
Its My job
Where I come from
Jimmy,Mac, and The Barry Fish Band
Come Monday
Volcano
5 O'Clock Somewhere
Brown Eyed Girl
Son of a Sailor
Cheeseburger in Paradise
Fins
Margaritaville
