Terrell boy wins essay contest to bring down Texas Stadium
A former foster child, Casey Rogers has a soft spot for the people who fall through society's cracks. Dallas' homeless recognize him as the warm-hearted kid who often shows up in a downtown parking lot offering food and clothes.
But pretty soon, the whole world will know the freckle-faced 11-year-old as the kid who brings down a big national sports landmark.

Re: Terrell boy wins essay contest to bring down Texas Stadium
"Longtime Dallas Cowboys fans who worried that a young Redskins or Giants follower was going to be named winner of the national contest can breathe a sigh of relief. Not only is Casey a faithful follower of the boys in blue and silver, he once played football in the hallowed home he's about to help tear down. "
Good for little Casey, but ...... (it could've been a Redskins fan, not sayin' it was rigged or anything mind you)

If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

I heard some rich guy is going to offer the kid's charity a million bucks to wear a Redskins jersey when he does the deed.
OK, so I made that up.....but it could happen

And this said rich guy will also have two other kids there, one wearing a Giants jersey and one wearing an Eagles jersey, to help?C-Dawg wrote:I heard some rich guy is going to offer the kid's charity a million bucks to wear a Redskins jersey when he does the deed.

No, just the one kid, but he's willing to double his donation if Jerry Jones is in there when they push the button to detonate.aeroparrot wrote:And this said rich guy will also have two other kids there, one wearing a Giants jersey and one wearing an Eagles jersey, to help?C-Dawg wrote:I heard some rich guy is going to offer the kid's charity a million bucks to wear a Redskins jersey when he does the deed.

OK with me to have Jerry holding the end of the blast fuse but we better make sure we save the cheerleaders. Even Eagles fans appreciate the cheerleaders!

OK, Texans, I was just funnin' ya the first time, but here's a serious question:
As long as jollymon66 mentioned the cheerleaders, it made me think: Back in the good old days — they were still playing regularly in the Cotton Bowl — the Cowboys used to have a different performing group for halftime shows — the Kilgore Rangerettes. A Google check shows they are still in existence.
Have they ever been back to perform since the Cowboy Cheerleaders rose to prominence? Have the Cowboys organization ever thought about bringing them back from time to time? Seems to me that it would be a no-brainer to have them there next time they do a 'throwback jersey' day.

It would be kind of peotic if a Redskins fan, an Eagles Fan and a Giants fan got to press the button to bring down Texas Stadium. Would be good therapy for fans of those teams to finally destroy a building that caused them so much pain over the years.
Dumb and drunk as I was, you know I would do it all again.

It wasn't all pain...I can remember an 11 sack game that welcomed Aikman to the NFL in 1989......
Who can forget the "pickle juice" game a few years ago?

Re: Terrell boy wins essay contest to bring down Texas Stadium
The Cowboys have always had cheerleaders they were called CowBelles & Beaux and comprised of high school students from the metroplex. I've been watching Cowboy games since the franchise started and honestly I don't recall the Rangerettes performing at halftime, possibly they did and I don't remember because I was young. You've got a good memory to be able to remember Cowboys games prior to 1972 when the squad as we know it today began performing. Kilgore JC Rangerettes have been around since the 1940's and perform during the halftime of Kilgore Ranger games, one would think they're pretty busy during the Cowboy season with the Rangers games.Bicycle Bill wrote:OK, Texans, I was just funnin' ya the first time, but here's a serious question:
