In honor of St. Patrick’s Day… a few quotes from “Stephen”, William Wallace’s Irish friend -

(Stephen) “The Almighty says this must be a fashionable fight. It's drawn the finest people.”

(Stephen) “I didn't like him anyway. He wasn't right in the head.”

[to William Wallace] “God tells me he can get me out of this mess, but he's pretty sure you're f****ed.”

(Stephen) “That can't be William Wallace. I'm *prettier* than this man! Alright, Father, I'll ask him. If I risk my neck for you, will I get a chance to kill Englishmen?”
(Hamish) “Is your father a ghost, or do you converse with the Almighty?”
(Stephen) “In order to find his equal, an Irishman is forced to talk to God….Yes Father”
Yes, Father!
(Stephen) “The Almighty says, "Don't change the subject, just answer the f***in' question."
(Hamish) “Mind your tongue.”
(Campbell) “Insane Irish.”
(Stephen drawing a dagger on Campbell) “Smart enough to get a dagger past your guards, old man.”
(Wallace) “That's my friend, Irishman. And the answer to your question is "yes". You fight for me, you get to kill the English.”
(Stephen) “Excellent! Stephen is my name. I the most wanted man on my island, except I'm not on my island, of course. More's the pity.
(Hamish) "Your island"? You mean Ireland?
(Stephen) “Yeah. It's mine.”
(Hamish) “You're a madman.”
(Stephen) “I've come to the right place, then.”

That was the scene I was talking about, JollyMon. I watch that James Earl Jones speech every year on opening day. I think it signifies the way I've felt about baseball since I was a little kid. Most people don't understand how much I love the game. I also listen to John Fogerty's "Centerfield" and Alabama's "Cheap Seats" every Opening Day. Just a little more than 2 weeks! :D

A quote from one of my all time favorite movies in honor of St. Pat's day.

Father Peter Lonergan, Narrator: Ah, yes... I knew your people, Sean. Your grandfather; he died in Australia, in a penal colony. And your father, he was a good man too.

Ezekiel 25:17
From Pulp Fiction...
"The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the
iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men.
Blessed is he who in the name of charity and goodwill
shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness,
for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children.
And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers.
And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee."

(Reese Bobby) Excuse me, darling. I'm Reese Bobby. I'm here for career day with my son, Ricky.
(Ricky) Dad!
(Reese Bobby) Hey there, boy! Man, you got big. How long's it been? Three, four months?
(Ricky) Ten years.
(Reese Bobby) Ten years? Man, I gotta lay off the peyote.
(Schoolteacher) Mr. Bobby, there's no smoking in here.
(Reese Bobby) Oh, it's all right, darling, I'm a volunteer fireman. Okay, I am a semi-professional racecar driver and an amateur tattoo artist...and the first thing you gotta learn if you're gonna be a racecar driver, is that you don't listen to losers like your know-it-all teacher here.
(Schoolteacher) Okay, I think that's enough.
(Reese Bobby) Your teacher wants you to go slow, and she's wrong because it's the fastest who get paid and it's the fastest who get laid.

From "The Princess Bride" - one of my guilty pleasures to watch again and again...

Inigo Montoya: Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die.
Count Rugen: Stop saying that!

Westley: Why won't my arms move?
Fezzik: You've been mostly-dead all day.

Westley: You warthog-faced buffoon.

Cut it out! Cut it out! Cut it out! The hell's the matter with you? Stupid! We're all very different people. We're not Watusi. We're not Spartans. We're Americans, with a capital 'A', huh? You know what that means? Do ya? That means that our forefathers were kicked out of every decent country in the world. We are the wretched refuse. We're the underdog. We're mutts! Here's proof: his nose is cold! But there's no animal that's more faithful, that's more loyal, more loveable than the mutt. Who saw "Old Yeller?" Who cried when Old Yeller got shot at the end?

Nobody cried when Old Yeller got shot? I'm sure.

I cried my eyes out. So we're all dogfaces, we're all very, very different, but there is one thing that we all have in common: we were all stupid enough to enlist in the Army. We're mutants. There's something wrong with us, something very, very wrong with us. Something seriously wrong with us - we're soldiers. But we're American soldiers! We've been kicking ass for 200 years! We're 10 and 1! Now we don't have to worry about whether or not we practiced. We don't have to worry about whether Captain Stillman wants to have us hung. All we have to do is to be the great American fighting soldier that is inside each one of us. Now do what I do, and say what I say. And make me proud.

I'm sure I posted in this thread way back when but I still have to go with

"Leave the gun. Take the cannoli" from the Godfather.

Although I do love this one....

Bridget Jones - "Wait a minute, nice boys don't kiss like that"
Mark Darcy (Colin Firth) - "Oh yes they f*cking do"

Annie Wilkes: Anything else I can get for you while I am in town? How about a tiny tape recorder, or how about a homemade pair of writing slippers?
Paul Sheldon: No, just the paper would be fine.
Annie Wilkes: Are you sure? Because if you want I can bring back the whole store for you!
Paul Sheldon: Annie, what's the matter?
Annie Wilkes: WHAT'S THE MATTER? I will tell you "what's the matter!" I go out of my way for you! I do everything to try and make you happy. I feed you, I clean you, I dress you, and what thanks do I get? "Oh, you bought the wrong paper, Annie, I can't write on this paper, Annie!" Well, I'll get your stupid paper but you just better start showing me a little appreciation around here, Mr. MAN!
