Has anyone ever used cash advance? I am in a real tight spot and can not think of any other options. I put a list of stuff for sale on CL and around my complex. I just do not want to put all my eggs in one basket so to speak.
I checked out a few of the cash advance places on line. There are none down here. Has anyone ever used one? I just feel real iffy about it.
Thanks.
Have you used cash advance?

As someone who has been in banking my whole working life I'd say if you have ANY other option, take it. There are dozens of articles if you google it but here's just one. None of them recommend this type of loan

Agree with ScarletB. It's legalized loan sharking
. The guys in the mob would only break an arm or a leg; these guys would break an arm *AND* a leg, and *STILL* want the money.
Do you have a credit card, or a debit card with your bank? Perhaps you can get a cash advance through one of those (depending on how big you need to go). It's still expensive in terms of interest but not nearly as bad as the cash advance places, and you do get time to pay it back.

Thank you. You confirmed my reasons of being iffy on this. It all just does not sound right.

Stay away from those on-line things. There are most likely pawn shops or check cashing outlets or a title loan outlet (of course you need the title to your car). They will kill you on interest also but if you are desperate and willing to pay a high rate, a local spot might be a better option. If you have a military base close by, there will be a ton of payday loan places. They prey on the military.

Re: Have you used cash advance?
Once just before heading out on vacation we wanted a little extra spending $$$ so I went to the Advance America here. I borrowed $500 and had to pay back $555 when I got paid two weeks later. Sure the interest is high but at the time nobody I knew was gonna loan me the $$$. My brother gets caught up in it from time to time and calls it "the endless cycle".
I think the problem/trap with a lot of folks is that once you do it you know it's there and do it any time you're in a bind instead of toughing it out and then once you pay it back you're broke and have to do it again. That's the company's plan. I would only do it if it were really called for but never online.

never, ever, ever use them. ever.
300% interest or more if you figure in the fees. it would be easier to sell a kidney than use those folks.
