Was checking a couple things out at my local library, and was quite surprised to see a whole row of "A Salty Piece of Land" books behind the check out counter. It's the adult book discussion for the month. Maybe I should attend and look for Mr Right!
Second Saturday Readers’ Book Discussion
Saturday, April 10 at 10:00 a.m.
A Salty Piece of Land by Jimmy Buffett
Tully Mars finds himself regretting a decision to help find the missing lens belonging to the Cayo Loco lighthouse, in a tequila-inspired adventure featuring such characters as Indian shaman Ix-Nay and boatman Captain Kirk.
Jimmy or not, I can't even imagine going to a library book discussion, but I was tickled by the notion.
You’re still grinning, we’re still winning, nothing left to say
I’m still gliding as I go flying down this endless wave

It's too far for me to go to attend — unless BN would authorize me an expense account (yeah, like that's gonna happen!) — but it might be interesting to hear how the discussion went from a Parrothead's perspective. Any takers in the Chicago area? -"BB"-
"I'd rather die while I'm living than live while I'm dead." "Some of it's magic, and some of it's tragic, but I've had a good life all the way."
What someone said earlier, when does Tully regret helping Cleopatra find the lense for the light? I think he was greatful that she saved his butt from being arrested, and he was quite happy to help her out.
As much as I love A Salty Piece of Land I don't know if I would want to spend a Saturday in the library participating in a discussion group.
Here we are, maybe it's because in spite of all the work we do
It's the child in us we really value
Here we are, with our fins up and our feathers flashing
Here we are, with our coconut shell brassieres chanting
