Picture At Top Of News Page Here At BuffettNews

This is Off Topic but it has to do with here so I thought I'd give it a try: I recently got the 3.6 Firefox update but did not get Google Chrome updated (have yet to get one) and BOTH of those browsers won't let me see the picture at the top of the news page here.

How in the hell does that happen? One day everything is working just fine, the next - nothing. Granted, so far it's just that but I'm starting to wonder, what else am I not seeing without even knowing it.

Any one have any idea?

Maybe you might have to update your flash plug-in or
check in the tools-options for the browsers and
make sure that you have it set to allow viewing of flash content.

My guess is that Firefox/Chrome have ad blocking enabled that is blocking that banner. I use Firefox and thankfully it has Adblock plus but I can't remember if that was an add-on or not. On most sites, the banners are annoying and add no value. You might check under Tools and see in the options if Firefox is blocking the banner, if so, you might be able to add this site as an exception.

If this is the one then I'm sorry I've got nothing. It's a standard .jpg file that normally is easily seen in any browser. There are some browsers that have issues with certain image files such as a .png but I've never known of one to have issues with .jpg

If you're talking about the one just under the menu that yes it is your settings in firefox. Enable scripts for here and you should see it.

It's the top news stories window that is not visible in firefox 3.6 works in IE 8 alright

I'm at a loss. I see it in both Firefox and IE8. I got IE6 at work and can check it tomorrow

It's not the banner, it's the picture that is usually some new or recent picture, lately from a video. It's rather large. The news page, at the top portion of the page. I'll have a look. Thanks for the suggestions - those are things that just don't occur to me. They work one day, then one day they don't.

One would think at some point there wouldn't be a need to update flash and whatever!
