I saw the BEP in concert in Tampa last year...WHAT A SHOW!!!! If their half time program is half of what that concert was, it'll be one of the better half times we've seen in a while.chippewa wrote:Sorry, Jimmy. Looks like it's gonna be the Black Eyed Peas. Maybe next year.

I would have to respectfully disagree. I saw them on the Today Show about 4 or 5 years ago. It was the only time I can remember a musical guest on Today playing straight through without a commercial break. I will stipulate to the fact that the Today Show is not the same as a regular concert but it was the longest 20 minutes of my life, they were just awful. I walked across the street to see them for free once. I'd run as fast as I could in the other direction to avoid seeing them again. But I'm sure I like some musicians that other people don't, to each their own.

Sounds like the first time I saw Devo on SNL. I put a brick through the TV set.LIPH wrote:I would have to respectfully disagree. I saw them on the Today Show about 4 or 5 years ago. George OWNS the new stadium ... just ask anyone who was there the night he opened it to the masses. He was sooooo good, even if the sound sucked a big one.Nighthawk wrote:Texas belongs to King George. Anyone else it would be just plain stupid.
Gentilly ... 42 years is a long time to wait .... a Northeast Texas woman can hope.

I think this says it best:

Instead, they chose a band they think young people like rather than a band actual young people like.
We can only hope to hear such classic hits as "My Humps," "Boom Boom Pow," and "Let's Get Retarded."

...expect a shorter set than usual, he's got a lot of little mouths to feed.Let Kenny Chesney do it.

If I had a TV, I'd turn it off at halftime.

Re: 2011 super bowl
I haven't been able to hear the last I do not know how many half time shows. Ain't that when everyone at the bar goes up to get the buffet?
Did you hear the one about me being a punk?
Did you hear the one about me being a drunk?
Did you hear the one about me losing my nerve?
Or how I'm just another f**** sheep in the herd?
Did you hear the one about me giving a s***?
Cause if I ever did I don't remember it.
