2011 super bowl

Buffett being considered for 2011 super bowl halftime show. My apologies if already posted elsewhere.
I agree. I hope he does not do it either. For one thing, the man is entitled to have a break once in a while and it is obvious that he enjoys going as a spectator. But also, there is never enough time to do a decent show. How many songs could he get in - 3 maybe 4? Not enough to let the uninitiated appreciate his talent. And for his fans, they will have already heard the songs a gazillion times so why bother. And he certainly does not need the exposure. Let Kenny Chesney do it.C-Dawg wrote:I posted in a similar thread last year that I think it'll be Garth Brooks playing this years Superbowl. If not him, George Strait or some other Country music star will do it.....if it is a rock band, which i doubt happens, I have my bet on Bon Jovi and they'll do "Blaze of Glory"
I actually hope Jimmy doesn't do the Superbowl unless it's a life goal of his....I prefer not to have to share him with the masses anymore than we already do, with him selling everything but the kitchen sink with a Margaritaville logo on it....but that's just me![]()
I could see TX going for Garth Brooks. On the subject of possible acts, my source offered up five candidates:
1) Kenny Chesney
2) Garth Brooks
3) Tim McGraw
4) Brooks & Dunn
5) Jimmy Buffett
Not only the logical choice but the perfect one as well. Puts on a fantastic live show.Texas belongs to King George. Anyone else it would be just plain stupid.
yeah, those 33 days of concerts and another 33 of travel a year, my god that is grueling.. I couldn't keep that labour pace..rmissbrook wrote:I agree. I hope he does not do it either. Yeah, easy ticket...sailorkid94 wrote:IMHO I really don't care either way if jimmy does the show. You know if he does the halftime show the only songs he'll play are Margaritaville and Chesseburger and maybe some of the other bad songs that everyone knows him by. But on the other hand if he does do it, it will just be one more show I might be able to go to so...

or
NO JB At SB 45.
George Strait makes the most sense. Willie would just mumble through it. Garth, well hell, it's not like he's actually gonna be doing anything.
Garth performs four shows at the Wynn on select weekends. I think it's 15 weekends a year. Not a bad gig!!!Nighthawk wrote:HurricaneSeason wrote:No Jimmy in the '011 Supe!

Garth has an exclusive contract with Steve Wynn. Garth does a show on Sundays at the Encore Theater.
Brooks and Dunn could be the only other feasible option since they can use that to close off the Last Rodeo tour.
