Got it at Walmart.com -- great album, terrible shopping experience. You have to download each song individually!

Nice to hear Jimmy playing some rare tunes (T.P. and John Prine). Really wish I could by digital music direct from Mailboat, though.

I ordered directly from Margaritaville to avoid Wal-Mart... Got the CD today... a day late.

Comparing my recordings with those on the CD I found that Jimmy said at the beginning of Coast of Carolina there was a "big f*cking bug" in his wine, and I do remember that because I was there in 2008.

But the f*cking part is edited out on the CD!

I guess the Mailboat versions are the same as the Wal_Mart versions?

Sorry Jimmy, speaking for myself only... I don't care if you say "f*ck"
I picked up on that to. I went back and listened to Sunlovers set and sure enough that was in there.

I noticed that everyone like the Encore's cd. My question is, what is the difference between the cd and the songs we are all able to download?? Better quality? Everyone feels we should buy the cd, since we are provided all the concerts for free and feel bad about not buying it because Jimmy is nice enough to let us hear him over the internet.

Just curious

In my case, I'm not a techie.

I have an ipod, but listen to cd's much more frequently.

I made a couple cd's from SunLover's compilation, but their thin little jewel cases aren't distinct from all of the other concert and other cd's I've burned. I look down, and can quickly identify the Encores case, or the Take the Weather With You case, etc.

And, from downloading on a lackluster computer, some of the songs have skips.

The computer my Itunes is on got a virus a couple years ago, so I no longer access the library, and have to figure out how to keep it booted long enough to extract the large file to a flash drive. I found directions on how to do it, but the download takes too long and the machine shuts down before it's done.

Bottom line, to reiterate, I'm not a techie. People who are, probably aren't quite as thrilled.

Glad you pointed out the bug thing. I just listened to it on headphones. That's funny. It just says, with an obvious difference in sound, "it's a dead bug now".

Anything else that's been edited out?

When I told them the release was 4/20 they would not listen and also refused to look on Walmart's website which clearly states that the release date is 4/20 for both online and in store sales.
That tells you how out of touch some people have gotten with album releases - they are ALWAYS on a Tuesday.

*Wally World Stock Update*

well after reading about similar experiences from alot of folks here with their respective walmart, i decided to venture back to see if any cds were leftat my local store. Low and behold they had moved all of the disks AND put out a few more for a total of 9 cds in the new release section in electronics. Then I went looking for landshark clothing and found 4 different styles of t-shirts, 3 different styles of swim trunks and 4 different hats. I ended up buying dark red landshark hat, a pair of orange, grey swim trunks and a grey landshark shirt, all for 8 bucks apiece , great deal and i am glad i went back.

If I had a clue how to use those sites I would. However, I don't know how they work and eveytime I go out there I think. Wow! there is some neat stuff out here! Then I try to figure out what I need to do to get it and go "huh???"

Even I can handle a trip to the W place and letting Itunes take it from the CD and put it on my Iphone. For all I know those sites may be that simple too...but I've never done it and don't know where to start. I haven't wanted to admit that I'm clueless

Got my copy today and LOVE it! I was going to order it off of Margaritaville website. When I went to check out, the only shipping option was UPS. And that would have been $10.86 for 3 day delivery. So I cancelled my transaction, went down to the local Walmart and picked up a copy. I am continually baffled by Margaritaville. They seem to do everything in their power to make your shopping experience as unpleasant as possible.

Last week my wife and I were in Key West visiting friends and stopped in to Margaritaville.....yeah, I know you find that hard to believe

Any way, the store had JB's new "Encores" CD playing and one of the clerks said that the staff really was enjoying it. I asked whether they get tired of hearing Jimmy all day, every day. Surprisingly, she said "No" with the exception of the "Live at Texas Stadium" CD......she said if she hears "All My Ex's Are From Texas" one more time she might explode! :D

Even the M-Ville staff have their limits...... :pirate:

Anyone else notice that Jimmy's voice is kinda rough on this cd? I remember thinking of this possibility when I heard that an all encores cd coming out. I notice it on disc one the most. Then again I may be getting burned out his live albums because he's hit us with so many over the last few years. I haven't listened to it since I first bought it and I go back to work tomorrow so I'll have to take it in and give another listen.

Well, I'm going to risk life and limb and head to Walmart in the morning...anybody have some Kevlar I can borrow? It's not in the nicest hood. :-? Plus it's a super walmart, so who knows where the CD might be, if they even have it. Maybe in the produce section?

I knew that collection was gonan be a good one. Remember, you heard it here first! It's interesting to hear they cut the tracks the same way I did; with Jimmy's comments leading into the track ("Thanks for 30 or so years of this summer job..." "Allllright..." "Okie Dokie...").

Still wondering where they got the idea for this set...
I think Jimmy got the idea from Jimmy!

If you look at the liner notes it says... "and somewhere back at the beginning of the 2008 tour .... I had this idea that we should offer a little more in the way of dessert than we had done in previous years."

The Encore Collection was posted on 9/24/2008... Somewhat later in 2008!
