Food for thought there if not a bit heavy handed. I think how we spend our time applies not just to Facebook but the internet in general. I heard a real interesting piece on NPR recently on a book called Alone Together: Why We Expect More from Technology and Less From Each Other by Sherry Turkle. I have been unable to find a link to that particular piece but I did find this article on the book which is well worth reading. Personally, I think it's about finding a balance. Most everyone I know has flocked from the message boards and email lists I once frequented to FB. Friends that I know that previously wouldn't even join up on such boards are now on FB. Is it an essential part of life? No but if you enjoy it and want to stay in touch with those friends, you can do so without sacrificing other parts of your life. As for the "friends" aspect, I try to keep my list of friends down to people I actually know but I also see no harm in "online" friends. I have met lots of people face to face via the internet over the years due to mutual interests so they are just as "real" to me as my friends I see on a day-to-day basis. That said, I've never made a habit of padding my list of friends with people I don't know at all just to make it appear as though I have tons of friends.
More food for thought here, thanks again to something I heard on NPR about "No Screens Week".
Thank goodness for YouTube. I missed this Grammys In Memoriam montage that included a clip of Richie Hayward playing the drums (rather than just a still photo). Well, ok. I miss a lot of things that are on tv.
Thanks a lot for sharing, just checked out Uncle Jim's channel, like the Hotel Concerts!

Not sure if I already posted this, if so, my apologies!
This is a young swiss band I'm engineering as a hobby.
Their name Equinox comes from a sailboat trip in the aegean sea they did together.
From the CD release party in January:
From the same party.
The girl doing strange gestures centre picture is working with hard hearing and deaf kids and teens.
Some visited the show, so she tried to "tell" them the lyrics, in gestures.
And, for your amusement, a song with lyrics in our mother tongue.
It's called "the weel" and tells about one's life, about the turning wheel...
Hope you enjoy!
