There's not a lot of footage of Gram Parsons out there but I thought I'd seen it all until I saw this, the Flying Burrito Brothers on a boat.

Musical performances from Amy Ray (of Indigo Girls), Kooley High and Mount Moriah from yesterday's Rock Against Amendment One Rally that was held outside The Pinhook in Durham, NC. For those unfamiliar with Amendment One (which goes to the polls here in NC tomorrow), here's some more information:
Constitutional amendment to provide that marriage between one man and one woman is the only domestic legal union that shall be valid or recognized in this State.
If it passes, it will amend Article 14 of the NC Constitution by adding a new section:
Sec. 6. Marriage.
Marriage between one man and one woman is the only domestic legal union that shall be valid or recognized in this State. This section does not prohibit a private party from entering into contracts with another private party; nor does this section prohibit courts from adjudicating the rights of private parties pursuant to such contracts.

The trailer for Jonathan Demme's upcoming Neil Young film, Journeys:

Description from YouTube:
A look at Neil Young's 2011 solo tour to Toronto's Massey Hall, an iconic venue in the city of his birth. At sixty-five, Young retains a youthful vitality and musical curiosity. Concert footage of the Massey Hall performances is interspersed with scenes from a road trip through Ontario. Driving a 1956 Ford Crown Victoria, Young visits the rural town of Omemee, where he spent a key part of his formative years, and reminisces about his former neighbors. As he drives past the dramatically changed landscape, Young fondly embraces his memories of the past.

There's still no actual confirmation that ZZ Top are going to be releasing a new album this year but here's a teaser video for a new song called "I've Got To Get Paid". At 1:54 it's definitely not a full length version of the song. According to the post about it on their FB page, it's apparently a single. If so, then I'm not sure what "Flyin' High" was.

Even though it's just a snippet of the song, this definitely sounds much more promising than "Flyin' High" which struck me as ZZ Top stuck in the same gear as they've been for years.

Never knew that he co-wrote that song. Amazing career the guy's had. I love Jimmy's cover of "Back to the Island".

Thanx! :D

Oh dear Heaven, there's a YouTube video out there of "Back to the Island" done by The Captain and Tennille. Somebody shoot me...

From the looks of this clip I'd say they were high on more than just consolation.

This is just a beautiful song put on youtube in 2007:

Ripped from the Kokua Festival broadcast Ben Harper and Jack Johnson Cover Bob Marley's High tide or low tide.

This song has also been stuck in my head since watching Marley.

I found it so sad, yet uplifting. The movie had a story about Bob doing sound check on one song hour after hour after hour before his final show. It was I'm Hurting Inside...this is the original version.

Acoustic version

Even though I've seen it many times before I've probably watched this a good half dozen times since seeing Marley on Saturday night. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a version that's free of the narration that's been dubbed over the track.
