Any advice for overseas fans trying to get tickets?

Post by Strange Bird »

Firstly - hello all! I'm new here and hoping to catch Jimmy on his home soil this year.

I'm getting excited that LV date(s) might be confirmed soon! I've never booked tickets to an event in the US (I'm in the UK) so wondered if anyone had any advice about booking/collecting the tickets. I've checked the MGM website and they seem to have a 'will call' option for collecting. Any thoughts?

Many thanx!

You can do will call or you can use TicketFast tickets and print them yourself. The good thing about Ticketfast is that if you leave them on your fridge, you can reprint them at your hotel, rather than having to have them sent overnight (can you tell I've done that?).

Do not worry. No problem. Purchase your tickets from Ticketmaster with your credit card and then you collect them on the morning of the show at the MGM and have to show your passport and credit card that you have used to purchase them. Get a plan of the seating arrangement of the MGM and you can see what tickets you are offered. If you do not think the seats are good enough do not buy them and keep on trying for better seats.

Thanks both for your advice. Thinking I might need to take some time off work on Monday to make the booking. Anyone know what time (and time zone) the tix will be on sale? I really need to calm down...

It'll be the local time to the venue, which is Pacific. They haven't announced the time yet, but it's typically 10am.

And they ain't gonna be cheap.
I would hold a sign up saying "I came all the way from England and I need a ticket"...someone will have a drunken friend that is not going to be sober enough to get to the show and they'll give you one. Sure thingy.

It is usually 6 pm our time and I am then ready to purchase tickets as I always panic thinking I will not get any. Last time bought them just after 6 pm but think I will wait this time as if you log on later you may be able to get better seats.

We have got our tickets for Paris and now going to get them for Vegas. We were just hoping Jimmy would do both Saturdays but the one show will be fine. Hope to see you at both Jonathan. Must remember we must NOT BOOK flight and accommodation until we have the tickets.

I am going to wait to book the flight until later in the summer - just in case. But I do have the hotel - we are staying at the Flamingo!

This would be the best option but ticketmaster does not recognise anywhere outside the US. Mention England and the say "oh wasn't that apollo 9" outside the US you have to use will call. If like me you can't make the concert it becomes a real pain.

do you have a friend in the US you can either have the tix mail to them or emailed to them? and then they could in turn forward them to you?
There's this one particular harbor.....
