I like San Jose (SJC) because it is about 15 min from Mountain View, but San Francisco (SFO) is still only about 25 min away.

Any news on the pre-party?? TT?

check the various travel web pages. you may find that even tho san jose is the closest airport, san francisco might be the cheaper airport to fly into and out of. either way, try to arrive during the non commute hours.

Not yet. I am having the usual "venue never returns calls or answers the phone" problems with the Sports Page.

Isn't that always the case. Best of luck getting through to them. I now live literally walking distance from the SP, so if you need me to swing by as a go-between, just let me know.

Well, apparently the Sports Page can only have live music *inside* now, thanks to the City of Mountain View. While this is an improvement over "no live music," it apparently doesn't work for them to try having live music pre-concert. While I am disappointed by this...I really can understand the reasoning.

So while I *will* be stopping by for a pre-concert drink, there is no gig attached to it. They will apparently have a DJ inside, and pipe the music outside.

Anyone up for helping create an entourage for me? We could hit a bunch of parties, etc. etc.

My first Buffett concert was in Irvine, and that was a blast. The 8 hour preparty in the parking lot was a lot of fun.
Now we are off to Shoreline, my wife and I are bringing 6 friends for their first experience.

23 Days and counting!

Since there is no tailgating (bummer) what can be done in the local area?

were a slug bunny bunch when it comes to jimmy at shoreline. it ain;t nothing like you find on the east coast or irvine or san diego. its more like, get parked, get inside the venue, buy our food and drink, watch the show, and then get out as best as you can, when its over. the sports page is small place, the does land office bidness for any show, jimmy included. also we got him on a saturday for the first time in a while, so maybe there will be a few songs played that have not seen the lite of day in a while. or not.

What would be a good time to get to the Concert. Don't want to get caught up in the crowds. So sounds like the VIP parking would be best. What about Hadicap parking? Do you still have to pay the Vip ticket if you have that.?

I'm guessing we'll get there between 6:30 and 7:00 in the VIP lot. Based on past experience, you can "tail-gate" but you have to be very discrete. All drinks down if a mountie rides by. Another option is to hook up with some phriendly pholks on RV row.

Face value on VIP parking is $40; regular parking is free. For VIP parking go to ebay. Search on "Jimmy Buffett Shoreline" The brokers are offering deep discounts.

Their website says "Accessible parking spaces are available in the front lot". This sounds a lot like the VIP lot. I seriously doubt that you would have to pay the VIP fees to park if your car has a handicap license, but probably best to call and make sure (650-967-3000).
