I guess you haven't a word to say about the reffing in this game.

Well, now that you ask, Crosby is still held to his own standard and it would take an act of Congress to get a call on him, but otherwise I thought it was more evenly ref'ed than some of the previous matches. Crosby was the only thing that kept it from being 5-2 when he was draped all over Andre Kostitsyn and prevented him from lifting the puck over MAF in the 3rd. If it were the other way around with AK on Crosby, it would've been a definite call.
I don't care if they call the games tight or lose, just call them evenly, and I've been saying that all along.

Like the puck that was three feet in front of Halak shot then shot in by Malkin and then disallowed?

It wasn't like it was under Halak and the ref lost sight. It was three feet in front of him and the ref did a $#!t job.

I'll be honest with you, I was at the marina working on my boat til almost 8:30 (it's going in the water tomorrow). Got home and turned the game on just as they came back from the TV timeout right after the Habs tied it up at 2, so I didn't see the play you describe, so I can't make judgement on it.
Win or lose tomorrow night (I do think the Habs will pull this off) I'm happy with what my team has accomplished. All season the experts ran them down saying they overpaid for Gomez, Gionta and Cammaleri, that Gill was too slow and Spacek too old to be effective. All that time the Habs had a revolving door to the infirmary, with Markov out for almost 60 games, Cammy out for 6 weeks, Andre Kostitsyn out for a month, Gionta out for a couple of weeks.....so they never had the chance to come together as a team til the last couple of weeks of the season. No one knew what they had as a team, because they hadn't had the chance to play as a team. Now we know. Bob Gainey has done a brilliant job putting together a team of skill, mixed with a lot of heart, who believe in themselves, each other and has proven itself to all the experts who bashed them all season. Win or lose tomorrow night, the Habs are back, and if they don't win it all this year, they will soon.

Well, we've heard from the Canadian and Penguin contingent. Where are all the Flyer fans going "woo woo" and "vengence is ours"? :)

These series are getting interesting.

The only good thing is the Flyers keep extending when the Pens lose so there will be no rest factor in the conference finals. I have to admit that the officiating has been crap on both ends of the ice. Crosby last night, Gill the game before with a slash that broke a stick, all the holding going on. They should just blow the whistle on a stoppage of play and icing and thats it no penalties. At least then we would know it was called fair!! The only thing going for the Pens is MAF plays great every other game. But right now Halak is the number one star or as they say in Montreal...Nombre d'une étoile of this series!! If they were to go on and win the Cup he would get my vote for the Conn Smythe!!

The Bruins have to come back tomorrow night with Tim Thomas in net, as Rask has lost his confidence after giving up 9 goals over the past 2 games. Thomas ( who I used to watch in college playing with UVM) won the Vezina last year, and has something to prove. I don't think the B's can afford to start Rask again and give up a lead before pulling him. He's young, so announce Thomas as your starter and give Rask a few days to work with the coaches, breath a little and work on his confidence.
If you're the Flyers, keep doing what you did the past 2 games, you have them on their heels. What's the word on Boucher? Will he be back, or is it a serious injury?

The Penguins debuted at the Civic Arena on October 11, 1967 in a 2–1 loss to the Montreal Canadiens.....after helping to open it, here's hoping the Habs can do the Penguins another favor and close it tonight, so they can move into the new Consol Energy Center next season. :D

My secretary at work is a huge Pens fan........I follow the Caps (yeah, those infamous 1st round chokers, but I digress......) :o

She rooted for Montreal against Washington and got her wish......she was almost unbearable for me to be around as the Habs came back from a 3-1 deficit.

I'll be anxious to see her first thing this morning and see how "happy" she is now with playing Montreal.......

I've been a habs fan since I was a kid.....in Arizona. :o Followed the scores in the newspaper, as cable hadn't been invented yet!!! I may have been the only kid in Tucson that knew how to pronounce Guy LaFleur....much less who he was!!!! While I live in the DC region now and follow the Caps, the first round series was a no-lose proposition for me. Loved seeing them beat the Pens, and hope they take the Cup. God knows it's been too bloody long.

It occurs to me that I've wanted a home sweater since I was a kid, and I've never bought one. May need to remedy that.

I've had #12 Courneyer jerseys since I was a kid. The Roadrunner was my hero growing up and I've never wanted another players jersey til now, as I find myself wanting a #76 Subban jersey....the kid is going to be something special.
