While I live in the DC region now and follow the Caps, the first round series was a no-lose proposition for me. Loved seeing them beat the Pens, and hope they take the Cup. God knows it's been too bloody long.

It occurs to me that I've wanted a home sweater since I was a kid, and I've never bought one. May need to remedy that.
I've had #12 Courneyer jerseys since I was a kid. The Roadrunner was my hero growing up and I've never wanted another players jersey til now, as I find myself wanting a #76 Subban jersey....the kid is going to be something special.
Ahhh......Corn Y A !!! Prolly my favorite forward for the Habs. #29 Kenny D. was & ALWAYS will be my fav Hab. Always enjoyed the Goaltenders back in the day (except for Patty Wah!). Long live "Bunny" LaRocque!

Yes you are right the Pens are still great but you can't in the same sentence say Come On Flyers [smilie=puking.gif]

I will be routing for an original six match-up!! If this happens I think they should wear the old sweaters from the original teams!!

Subban was awesome but HALAK is the star of that team. If the Habs go to the finals there is no way he shouldn't win the Conn Smythe!!

The last few posts made me wonder,

What, if any, hockey jerseys do you have hanging in your closert? Team/player? Why?

I never really got into the jersey craze. Even though I was a huge football fan as a kid, my parents couldn't see spending so much $ for a jersey. I didn't come to the hockey party until my late teens and then I couldn't see spending so much $ for a jersey. But, I eventually relented and have an authentic home Capitals Rod Langway jersey from 1993 (with the fight strap and all). I got it after I was pretty sure he wasn't going to be playing for another team. I've got a replica mid-90's Caps jersey (no name/number) my wife wears. My kids will be getting authentic jersey's for their birthdays in the nexy month. Ov for the middle one and probably Backstrom for the older.

I've also got one of these:http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=3 ... =699909423.

I have a Flyers jersey in my closet..the back is blank. Everytime I'd buy a jersey with a player on the back they were promptly traded. One of my pet peeves is jerseys with players who have been on the team for less then 3 years or your own last name on the jersey. I guess if I had to get a name it would be Schultz or Clark.

I currently have 3 NHL jerseys....a red Habs jersey with #12 and Corneyer's name on it, a 1946 Heritage wool hockey sweater (replica) that has a white turtleneck like collar (no number on it), and a vintage 70's jersey (replica) that laces up the front with no number.....I also have my old high school, college and men's league jerseys from when I played.

Believe it or not, I still have the first hockey stick I ever owned, as a 6 year old in 1971....a Northland with a straight blade. My Dad put it away after my first season of playing youth hockey in Newfoundland Canada, and we found it years later when I had outgrown it.

I'll be anxious to see her first thing this morning and see how "happy" she is now with playing Montreal.......

Update: My secretary had her office doorway draped in black when I got to work today........ :o

I have no hockey jerseys in my closet, as hockey players don't wear jerseys. They wear sweaters.

I do have two sweaters in my closet: a Capitals white and an Avalanche white, both dating from 10 years ago or so.

Thanks Dr.! I've changed my post to reflect the proper spelling. As I said, the jersey has been hanging in my closet for 35 yrs.! I do know how to spell BUFFETT!

The way this series has gone, you have to believe that Philly will come out of this series......I can't believe the way Boston has rolled over, and the coach has to be held accountable. Yes, Sturm and Kreji are out, but he hasn't switched goalies or done anything to really try to snap the team out of their funk. Hard to believe, as I've always thought Julien was a good coach.

Tend to disagree although I would've liked Timmy Thomas to get a shot. I think Philly's run is over. B'ees get inspiration from Celts & dispatch of the Phlyers!
