So did the Bruins in games 1-3. Last night as just one, when we have all four and move on then I'll breathe a sigh of relief.Bfan53again wrote:Wow.....the Flyers looked pretty impressive last night!

Re: NHL 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs
I expected the Flyers to come out hard, as they are still flying high from beating the B's on Friday night, and the fans were pumped as well.Bfan53again wrote:Wow.....the Flyers looked pretty impressive last night!
As for the Habs, they didn't really show up last night. They outshot the Flyers, but they made Leighton look good by firing all their shots into his chest pad, and took stupid penalties (although the goalie interference was total BS). They also need to clog the neutral zone as they did in previous series, as they let the Flyers gain the Canadien's zone at will. The good that came from it...Halak and the Habs were outplayed and embarassed, just as they were in game 1 of the first 2 series, so they should bounce back, wanting to prove themselves. Halak has a 7-1 record in starts after being pulled. Also, I wonder if the Flyers will be able to keep up with the Habs over a long series, if they continue to roll a short bench and 4 defense against the habs 4 lines and 6 D. As last night's game went on the Habs seemed to be the faster team.
I said before the series began it would go 7 games, and I still believe.

From the Montreal Gazette....
It's too bad a few idiots can make a city look bad. Montreal had to deal with a couple of gangs using the last series celebration in the streets to start looting stores. F**kin' morons.
The Gazette's intrepid beat man parked his Honda Civic – 564,000 km and purring like a kitten – at the Wachovia Center.
Because the car has Quebec plates, Flyers' fans slashed the tires – and stole the plate!
Two Canadian TV trucks were vandalized as well.
And Marc-Antoine Godin of La Presse Tweets: "2 PHI fans yelled at TV guy 'go back home, you f@#$#& French-Canadian!' One had Briere jersey, the other a Gagné"

The conduct of some sports "fans" (regardless of the city/team) can be embarrassing........
On most days I say: "Wrinkles only go where the smiles have been...."
Sometimes I can only say: "There is no dumbass vaccine......"
If something or someone gets you down, just remember: "In a hundred years it all won’t matter.........."

Just like the Chicago Bears fans were rude, crude, obnoxious and just overall terrible to New Orleans fans that were in Chicago. Made me hate Chicagoans for a while.

I assure you those weren't the TRUE Chicago Fans, just the idiots that jumped the bandwagon..HurricaneSeason wrote:Just like the Chicago Bears fans were rude, crude, obnoxious and just overall terrible to New Orleans fans that were in Chicago. Made me hate Chicagoans for a while.
Makes me sad that "idiots" at the Chicago Cubs games were throwing food and drinks at the poor people wearing the Vancouver Canucks jerseys that were just there to take in the game...Or the 3 "idiots" that almost killed the Vancouver fan after game one after he "taunted" them...
And I'm not even going to go into the idiots that have been giving San Jose fans heck simply because we're playing their team... Come on, a little good natured ribbing is one thing, but please DONT cross the line into violence and vandalism....

In a secure lot at the Wachovia Center. Saves $15 ... and his tires
Sounds like the incident is getting a lot of press from all over both countries...

Re: NHL 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs
Having been born and raised in Philly, I can attest to the fact that it can be a really tough sports town.
However; I sat in the 700's at an Eagles game with friends that are true bengals fans decked out in orange and black stripes. The thing about that game was that neither my friends nor the eagles fans around us let the "taunting" and "joking" get out of hand. We had a great time - my friends were laid back and not defensive. I actually walked my friend to the food stands because I was afraid of what would happen if she went by herself. The eagles fans that day were true gentlemen...
I've also sat in the outfield at a cubs game (I was severly HUNGOVER and SICK!!) and wearing a Phillies shirt. I went to the ramps to get out of the sun. I could not believe the amount of cubs fans who came over to me (I must have been green and very sunburnt!), bought me water and sat with me to make sure I was ok...
There are real sports fans everywhere and then there are....well...just the idiots. The idiots embarass the real fans, the teams and the cities....and the rest of the fans are judged by the morons.

As long as there is no California team hoisting the Cup I'll be happy (just for the record, I have deleted from my own recollection of history in terms of who's won the Cup some team that has the worst nickname in all of pro sports and used to be owned by Disney that is in California - it's just WRONG). I am hoping that Montreal can figure something out but it looks like they're done.

Well.......that IS a good point. But no way in hell I want the Blockhawks to win the cup. Not really anti Flyer....just have a history of rooting for the Habs.

Re: NHL 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs
I think you're right, but the Habs biggest problem is mental. They have lost 6 straight playoffs games to the Flyers between this year and 2 seasons ago. Once they score one, I think it'll do wonders for their confidence, and have the opposite effect on Leighton. Currently, most of the Habs shots are right to the chest pad. Once they start picking corners again, I think their speed can wear down the Flyers who are still playing a shorter bench and 4 defense. I still think (hopeSeas in my veins wrote:Not yet, there is no way that this will be a sweep. Me too, if the flyers do win I don't want a long lay off should the other series go 7 games (doesn't look like it is)C-Dawg wrote:I think you're right, but the Habs biggest problem is mental. Re: NHL 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs
Latest on the missing license plate, stolen at the Wachovia Center......
Habs are at home.....I'm calling tonight's game 4-2 Habs, with an empty net......GO HAS GO!!!!
http://www.crossingbroad.com/2010/05/th ... s-car.htmlDan Flannery, who was originally accused by Canadian writer Pat Hickey as the guy who stole his license plate on Sunday, says he just posted the picture of the stolen plate on Facebook, but it wasn't him who stole it... hmm.
Philly.com reported the story initially, but has since changed its tune. Flannery was initially found by Hickey on Facebook after he posted pictures of Hickey's license plate--- the one that he had allegedly stolen. Brilliant.
Flannery says it was a friend who stole it, and that he will go to police.
Hickey will not press charges if the thief donates the value of the damages ($1,000) to a Philadelphia area charity. Pat seems like a good guy.
Seriously, how dumb do you have to be to send/post picture of a stolen plate?
