I don't wanna be a downer, but this set list is ripe with restroom-break songs. I mean, if he plays "Everybody's On The Phone", "Jamaica Mistaica", "Creola", and "Cheeseburger in Paradise" consecutively at every show, at least I know I'll have more time to wait in line. At this point, when the man has 30-some odd albums of his own material, I would REALLY like to hear just his stuff - no "Southern Cross", no "Glory Days" and CERTAINLY no covers of any country artists like Alan Jackson and the INSUFFERABLE Zac Brown Band (Quite possibly the most blatant God-awful quasi-country Buffett ripoff since Chesney). To me, he didn't really bust out any rare oldies on this set list, and I sincerely hope he switches it up before he comes to Indy!

but whatever, atleast he's playign different stuff, though it's only the first concert lol....those couple of songs that don't seem as constants, will change throughout the tour
overall it was good and i enjoyed it
I also like throwing in some oldies into the setlist and loved "Creola" but have to disagree with adding "Chill the Rose" into the setlist.
IMHO, that song is of the same calibre as Math Suks and Simply Complicated, and that time is far too valuable to waste on something like that. If he wants to add songs from Buffet Hotel, try "Learned to be Cool from You", "Beautiful Swimmers", "Life Short Call Now" or "Rhumba Man". I also like Summerzcool, but doubt we'll hear it this year.
Thank you C-Dawg I think "Turn up the Heat & Chill the Rose" may be the worst song Jimmy has ever recorded.

What I loved -

A few of the "oldies" pulled out of the vault from White Sport Coat and Last Mango

Nadirah singing Creola

Let's Get Drunk removed from the set list (song is OK but there is so much more material I like)

A new mix on Pirate (I still want to hear the traditional version throughout the summer)

Sorry I do love Southern Cross - Jimmy not as much as CSN - but still love it.

Taking time to feature a Mac song

Nobody from Nowhere opening the show
What I could do without ("didn't like" is too stong an expression)

Hot, Hot, Hot - I know its signature but I still would love to hear Day-O or another number

Lack of He Went to Paris
What I didn't like

Steve talking over the band intros
My wish for the summer: Lots of surprises and a bit more set list mix than the last 2 years or so.
Peace Out Parrotheads

To be honest....i think i had more fun listening to the variety of Buffett songs eminating from the parking lot than i did at the concert.
certain "core" songs need to go. Don't want to p*** anybody off...so i won't list the melodies that have become "tired".
Loved his energy and enthusiasm though.....

I think that was pre-recorded and automated. Both tags appeared one song early.

I love the fact that Jimmy got out from behind the guitar to do Pirate, but he did look like he felt a little self-concious. So what about sitting on a stool like he did on Crossroads. Or like he did years and years ago on Johnny Carson when he sang Stars Fell on Alabama (which is just about my very favorite video of his). I think when he puts down the guitar it is sort of signal to the crowd that this is going to be a "quiet" song. Just my feelings.

my thoughts on the first show:
i'm glad brown eyed girl is gone, and hopefully for good. now drop southern cross.
zac brown songs should be played by zac brown.
not surprised at all by the lack of buffet hotel songs. i figured 3 or 4.
as much as i love jamaica mistaka its been played a lot. how about cousin in miami?
knees of my heart was played a lot a few years ago.
frank and lola is a weaker version of pencil thin mustache. how about whos the blonde stranger instead?
everybody's on the phone for breath in, breath out, move on for the encore.
if the phone doesnt ring its me is awesome!
bank of bad habits for barometer soup!
i like ilo kicking it off.
cuban crime of passion is great
dont like the new version of pirate. why not play the original version for something different?
open with a new song, i say make it summerzcool. leave nobody from nowhere for later.
opening music switch to jump in the line!
i'd say overall its really nice to see less cover songs! but i think the song selection can be improved. a lot of these "newly added songs" have been played extensively in recent tours. i look forward to see how the rest of the tour goes.

Good to hear some old standards (BEG and WDWGDAS) passed over... love 'em, but won't miss 'em live.
Dump Wings, and play Rhumba Man instead.
Dump Hot, Hot, Hot.... it's just been played soooo often ....it's now Not, Not, Not
Overall, I think it's a better sounding setlist, and one I do look forward to hearing...in 6 months
