Irvine Phans,
Well, all in all, a good show. It did not rain, we got lucky here! It was super to see the gang (Crabman, Mrs Crabman, SITC, and everyone else!). The show was good, a couple of old favorites and Jimmy sounded sharp in my opinion. Not a big phan of the Nadira solo personally, but she is a great singer. The tailgating was fun, we had very nice neighbors who put up with my stereo blasting Kenny Chesney, Black Crowes and a little bit o' Buffett. Heather and I head out in the FINS BUS today at noon for Vegas for Jimmy's show at the MGM. Hope to see everyone there, the bus will be parked in the Flamingo loading dock behind the block party stage. Fins Up!

Our plan is to arrive before 3:00 and hopefully avoid the long line into the parking lot. Stop and say hello if you see us. Silver Ford Edge and an always filled margarita ball.
Dan & Anna
Nice to meet you two. Had a great time playing music in the parking lot, everyone was wonderful!
Wonderful meeting you and the band. We had a great time! Drove straight into the lot at 2:00 pm. By 4:00 the party was going strong. The weather held up and we had no issues with the cops. Propane gas grills were fine, charcoal briguettes were not allowed. Our gas grill got plenty of use from our neighbors. Let's hope for a spring time Saturday show next time.

Yeah, the Irvine PD was ridiculously overbearing. A gang of 6 cops roaming the aisles looking for any minor infraction, then Verizon security doing the same! Whoever ran that operation is in serious need of training on how to handle an event like this.

Fortunately I didn't have any direct contact with the cops, but wow they handled things poorly.

We were like the fourth car in.It was early and the cops were everywhere. We know not to have beer bottles in the open. The party next to us wasn't so smart. Right away one of the guys got told to pour his beer bottle out. He actually tried to argue with the cop. Stupid. All day every time the cops passed his party they made them pour out their solo cups. They never once bothered us.

Same situation with us. My wife and I were outside the FINS BUS, and one of the first RV's in.Groups of police, many very young, came by every ten minutes. Every time they looked at me with my blue cup, and never said a word. Our music was blasting, but we were under control, no beer bottles or rum bottles in sight. What we heard was the police were being a real pain in the car lot, ticketing people left and right. Our area seemed to be getting a hall pass.

It seemed the police tried to set the tone early. Once the lot filled we hardly noticed them. We kept our drinks in solo cups and were never questioned. They didn't even notice my filled margarita ball.

Back home now, and moving very gingerly after the show last night.
Yesterday was great until about 11:10 when we were leaving. They finally opened up the lower gates at the bottom of the loge section, and while coming down the steps I slipped and bruised up my butt and left elbow during a HARD landing. Nothing broken "butt" very sore!!
Great seeing Daddymention, SITC, and SD Pirate40 again. We missed a few of you in '09, and never found you at CWP in '08. happy to share the good stuff with all of you (and that was a hell of a compliment, SD! You could drink TQ with
anyone, and I'm "nobody from nowhere", to coin a familiar phrase!).
Agreed about Irvine PD being a bit overzealous yesterday, although we thought it a bit humorous that one team was a young sergeant, a guy who was so proud of his citation book that he had to show it off at every opportunity. and a lithe asian female officer with an attitude twice her size. The funny part was that the guys were goading the female officer into confronting groups.
Thanks for being such a great group. We love the tailgate as much or more than the show sometimes
See you in '11

Concert was great...had orchestra section seats for the 1st time...got lucky for a change on ticketmaster...loved Banana Republics especially...

One of the better Irvine experiences in recent trips for me with the exception of the IPD stopping our truck and turning us away with beer in the coolers in the bed. We overcame that challenge and dodged them in the lot until they disappeared around 4:30. Enjoyed walking the Shark Dog through RV row. He was a rockstar! Thanks to SD Pirate for the tour of the Fins Bus and the Eagles stories. G&H, you have a great ride there. Inside the show, hanging with Fox's Chris Meyers and his son was really cool. Nice to see a Reefer alumni show. I think I counted 22 on stage at one time. Loved closing with Defying Gravity! I met someone inside who told me Ralph and the Reefers are remaking a very popular '80s tune with a very popular '80s artist giving it a Caribbean feel. All Night Long it was a great time. Hope you had a similar experience. I too am hoping for an SD show next year.

My band mate and I played in the lot some, but we also cruised the lot with our instruments. We played music with this one guy who was amazing and are both trying to find him on the internet. He was def. a Buffett look-a-like. He was in the first row (closest to the venue) at a very large brown and black motor home, set up very nicely with bar tables for their guests. He had a nice little sound system with a voice multi-plyer and playback track. His name was Eric and he called himself "the beach guy". I am looking to contact him. My band mate played with him for like three hours. She's an amazing guitar player and they were having a blast. She is an asian woman, and she was wearing a fedora type straw hat. If anyone has a picture of them playing together, we'd love it, we didn't have a camera. They had a huge crowd in front of them....I'm hoping one of you got a shot. Thanks for any help you might share in finding this guy.
