Failed Car Bombing Attempt in Manhattan

My money's on the white middle-aged guy caught in the surveillance video. When they catch up with him (and you know they will) I can hardly wait to hear what his motive was.

Thankfully the bomb builder wasn't quite good enough to pull it off and nobody got hurt.

No, not at all. As I said, lots of theories floating around. Personally, I think it's another goofball like Timothy Mcveigh, somebody who probably thinks we're living under a dictatorship and wants to inspire a revolution, but couldn't get his act together in time for the most significant date on the calendar for these idiots - April 19th.

But I could be wrong.

I don't like to imagine what would have happened if the thing had worked.

Uh oh. ABC reports tonight that Pakistan influence is likely. There goes that angry white guy theory. Well those guys are kinda white and they do seem angry. I hope we get a chance to meet with them and maybe discuss our differences. Maybe we can all just get along.

An American of Pakistani descent has been arrested at the airport and three others have been removed from a flight to Dubai. Speculation is that they may have been involved.

Apparently the car was parked in front of Viacom, which is the parent company of Comedy Central. There is some speculation that it may have been in retaliation for the recent South Park episode that featured a Mohammed character.

He is being charged in federal court this morning. It is being reported that he claimed to be working alone. Since he is a naturalized american citizen, he is entitled to be treated like any other american criminal. I am sure his lawyer will advise him to not say anything. A deal will probably have to be made to get any additional info. Fortunately the evidence wasn't destroyed so the investigators should be able to reconstruct his life without his help. I'm still waiting to see if Bloomberg and Napolitano will be able to say terrorist without stuttering.

I apologize to all middle-aged white guys who took offense at my suggestion that the failed bomber was an angry middle-aged white guy like Timothy Mcveigh.

If this was some religious fundamentalist's (in this case Muslim) idea of revenge at Comedy Central owners Viacom for the South Park episode depicting the prophet Muhammad in a bear costume, then I'm really upset. I love that show. This is still a somewhat free country and we don't need extremists of any strip unleashing their religious bigotry on the rest of us.
