Heading down to Baltimore for a quick weekend getaway...looking for some good restaurant recommendations! Definitely looking for steamed crabs and crab cakes!

Bertha's in Fell's Point and the Wharf Rat (home of Oliver Brewery). I don't know the name of the neighborhood for the Wharf Rat, but it's across the street from the baseball stadium.

Be sure to try Blue Agave in Federal Hill just south of the Inner Harbor: http://blueagaverestaurant.com/

The best margaritas I've ever had in a restaurant (all served straight up, no frozen versions here)........and I've had a lot of margaritas! :pirate:

Sliders is a good place for a beer before a game.
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

Life is short, live long!!

Thanks for the suggestions! :) I've been researching some bars in Fells Point & sounds like a cool area. I read that the Wharf Rat is closed and is now the Pratt St. Ale House. Keep those suggestions coming!! :D

This place (a full service restaurant) is located just outside the city of Baltimore:
G&M Restaurant & Lounge
804 Hammonds Ferry Road | Linthicum Heights, Maryland 21090

2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008!

But if you just happen to be walking through the Lexington Market, a stop at Faidley's would be a good suggestion.
Faidley Seafood - World Famous Lexington Market
203 North Paca Baltimore, Maryland 21201
(410) 727-4898
Monday through Saturday 9 AM until 5 PM

By all means, ping the Towson grad below.
Even if you don't know what to ask, just ask anyway.
You'll get good help there.

For a good Baltimore experience.. go to the Cross Street Market in Federal Hill.
G&M, as listed above, is known for their crabcakes. Another, unsung place is "By the Docks" in the Middle River/Bengies area (outside of town by 20 min) Outstanding crabcakes!!!!!!!!!!!

Be sure to hit Little Italy as well.

Let me know if you've got any questions.... I've been in the baltimore metro area my whole life.

Thank you for mentioning Boog Powell's! I was there once a few years ago and I am still craving another pulled pork sandwich

Try Nacho Mama's on O'Donnell Street in Canton. Great Mexican food. Where else can you get a margarita in a hubcap.

I think I want to have another day in B'more to do all this stuff! :) We just got our baseball tix in the mail for that weekend, and they include 2 free barbecue platters from Boog Powell's! We are going to spend the day bar-hopping in Fells Point on Saturday and then I guess take the water taxi over to the stop closest to Camden Yards and walk from there--is that a good transportation plan?

Sorry don't know - I usually drive into the stadium. One other thought - if you've never been to the aquarium in Baltimore - that's worth a stop as well. Have a Bar-B-Que for me :D

Now that's funny.........sad, true, but funny! :D

Being an O's fan is, well, nothing short of painful.......yet I still follow them. Guess I'm not a "fair weather" fan, right???

I'm a Mets fan, so I can totally empathize with having a frustrating team!! How far is Lexington Market from the stadium?

It's within walking distance of Camden Yards, but I'm not sure you want to be walking in that area......I'll defer to TSU86 for local knowledge

Totally unrelated but everytime I see this thread, I read it as "A Weekend at Bernie's".

Good suggestions all around. Don't know where Lexington Market is.

I know there is an Irish bar around the corner from the "newer" hotel that along the water. You go down the main drag (the one with the Inner Harbour on your right), Go past ESPNZone, and then make a right. It's down in there somewhere. I'd have to google it to get you more info.
Twenty degrees and the hockey games on...
