Betty White on SNL
One of their better complete episodes in years.
Lots of fun cameos from past SNL cast members.
One skit that will be remembered...

Re: Betty White on SNL
LOVED Betty White, but after this show, I remembered why I don't watch SNL any longer.
At first, I thought it was a generational thing, but our son doesn't 'get' it either

With the exception of Betty White - I haven't watched SNL in years because I think it pretty much sucks.springparrot wrote:LOVED Betty White, but after this show, I remembered why I don't watch SNL any longer.

Re: Betty White on SNL
Thought Betty was great, as I expected. But the writing was pretty weak. The only time I lol'd was the CSI:Sarasota bit.
I was hoping for a Sue Ann Nivens sketch.

Re: Betty White on SNL
I thought she killed it!!!!
But as stated in a few posts... unless there's a musical guest of interest I don't really watch the show anymore.
Watched it because of her....

Re: Betty White on SNL
The writers on the show resort to toilet and gay humor way too much. It's a shame. Here was a great opportunity to give Betty White better material. There were plenty of cast members this week to do a Golden Girl or Mary Tyler Moore bit. Heck, a walk on by Lou Grant or Murray?
There is a good cast, but lazy writing

Re: Betty White on SNL
Stopped watching SNL on a regular basis years ago...... there have been the occasional gem but in general the writing sucks and the cast doesn't know when to quit...they beat a very dead horse, and keep on beating hoping that the obserdity will be humorous.....BUT...Betty is one of those Gems......

Re: Betty White on SNL
I tried to hate on it but it was pretty funny to me.
Every now and then they'll have something really funny such as when Deniro was on with names on the terrorists most wanted list:
In reality, SNL probably has never been gut busting funny.
Back in the day everybody only had three channels and there was nothing else to watch.

True. When I watch the first five seasons, I'm only watching my equilivant of Rosebud.
Re: Betty White on SNL
It must do wonders to the self esteem of the regulars of a show that hasn't been relevant for years to have an octogenarian show up and give them their best reviews in years.
