Just got this e-mail from No Shoes Radio, might be a good show to check out:
No Shoes Radio Live Broadcast To Benefit Flood Victims TONIGHT!
As you're certainly aware, Nashville and middle Tennessee has been affected by the worst flooding in more than a generation. At least 23 people lost their lives, and countless others lost virtually everything they own as the floodwaters raged through residential areas that never expected to see the waters rise as they did. After 15 inches of rain fell over two days, even the stage of the Grand Ole Opry lay underwater.
Immediately after the disaster, several heroic organizations jumped to the aid of their neighbors, including the always-dependable American Red Cross. Its Disaster Relief Fund allows the Red Cross to provide desperately needed immediate emergency assistance to victims of all disasters, small and large. The fund provides for free assistance not only to victims of major disasters like the Tennessee floods, but also to smaller local disasters, like house fires. Since the American Red Cross is not a government agency, it relies on the donations of private individuals and organizations to provide assistance to those affected by disasters.
This is where you can help. Tonight at 5p CT (6p ET), No Shoes Radio will broadcast live from the Tin Roof in downtown Nashville, asking for your donations to the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. NSR's generous partners have pledged their own help, matching listeners' donations with their own! So, for every dollar you contribute, our partners will be there to add another dollar to the efforts! We'll have live music from various surprise guests and great items for auction and raffle. So tune in tonight ... and make a contribution using the Red Cross donation link on our web page. Thank you for your generosity, and thanks for being part of our NSR family!
