I'm throwing a vacation together fast & am looking for some suggestions/help....

This has been a REALLY crappy year emotionally...after months of thinking about it, I finally left my husband, but it's turned out to be WAY harder than I thought I would be (on soooooo many levels).
Anyway, I have some vacation days coming (everything's been so lousy lately, I sort of forgot about them, duh!) and I have to use them soon or lose them...they don't carry over.
So, I decided maybe I do deserve some R&R after all, but I have to throw it together fast....
I live in Erie (where it is certainly NOT warm)...I'd like to go someplace warm, preferably near the water...gonna drive most likely, but have not really been too many places, so I don't have any prior "good vacation spots" to draw from...

Any ideas, suggestions??? Please???

It has been in the 90's in the gulf coastal regions on TX, but I'm sure you want to go some place prettier than Galveston

1ST.....Welcome lurker!!!!! 2nd.....Yes you DO need a vacation away from Dreary Erie..... Driving distance....next to water....Hmmmmm.......... well there is Lake Erie .....OK.... how about Cape Cod??????? Or if your up for a bit of a road trip OBX??????? Or on the Chesapeake?????? Don't know how far you want to drive....BUT you definatly need some great road tunes....Buffett, Tom Petty, etc etc etc.......... to get your head in the right place....... sounds like you need to clear your head, loose some bagage and get that slate ready to write a fresh new story........whatever you do.....Have fun!!!!!!!

I feel ya....been there and it IS hard....really, really hard! I'm a year out (wow...that really went fast) and it does get easier and so, so, so much better!

No idea for a getaway, I took my post divorce r&r in Cancun......which I would highly recommend....but the driving would be difficult!

I've not been in many years, and stayed at a rental home, but I LOVED the place.

Thought about Boston, but was afraid it'll be worse than Erie, weather-wise. And BTW, today felt like WINTER!!!!!

I can leave for wherever on the 21st............less than 2 weeks away!
