Re: Margaritaville coming to Pensacola Beach
This is great!! Love the fact that it opens this year!!
We are also confused about where this leaves the Hollywod Beach location. Is Pensacola Beach replacing it or will there be both and Hollywood Beach will be the second to open.
Very anxious to hear more.
Even more anxious to make reservations.

It would seem to me that the developer of the property may have come into some financial difficulties and the opportunity presented itself to Jimmy to move in on this property. And that is why we never heard anything about it until now.

Well, he has yet to have any hotel or anything of that nature. So far nothing has been built or opened that has a casino with it. So this will be the first one. And the first of many cash cows for Jimmy Buffett. Because you know he's going to build them all over the place.

catsway wrote:Just watched the WEAR-TV report. The hotel is slated to open for the 2010 summer season, possibly in a few weeks. Plus they are constructing a 5000sq. ft. Tiki Bar. They go on to say that there will be a Margaritaville restaurant, but it won't open until Spring, 2011. The report also says that JB will be there for the grand opening....stay tuned!

Hmm... I use to work with the reporter on that story. I wonder if she's covering the grand opening.

Re: Margaritaville coming to Pensacola Beach
I was thinking the same thing. If you start to the east on Hyw. 98 in Panama City and drive west 80 or so miles you'll pass Margaritaville Panama City, Cheeseburger in Paradise in Miramar Beach (no long affiliated with JB directly) and then end up at the Margaritaville Beach Hotel in Pensacola. You can continue west bound another hour or so and be at Lulu's Homeport in Gulf Shores, Alabama. Makes for quite a weekend get away.Cuervo wrote:Humm....... might be another reason to move to PNS

Re: Margaritaville coming to Pensacola Beach
Well here's one. I've read it several times. Whether it's accurate or not might be a moot point, because no matter what, it's leaking oil constantly and it's a lot. I can smell it every day.
Here's a new article. I tried to find where I read that in the Times Picayune but I can't find anything. There's been so much.

Re: Margaritaville coming to Pensacola Beach
This is way too cool!
Todd, you are so right...the Island House is our little bit of paradise and no we are not moving Stars to P'cola. The Margaritaville Hotel is in the backyard of the Penscola Parrot Head Club. They will be able to bond with this hotel have many wonderful events there.
I saw where some on here have their feathers all blow up about the rates($195 - $450) at the new Margaritaville Hotel in P'cola. Folks you have to remember this hotel is opening up right in the middle of high season (End of May through Labor Day). All hotels on the P'cola beach have high rates during this time. Lordy be, the grand opening might be the weekend of July 4th...just in time to help out all the mom & pop places on the P'cola beach.
I'm so excited about this venue. It's right on one of the most beautiful beaches along the Florida panhandle.
Heading over to the site right now to book me a room!
