Mexico--Playa del Carmen
CDIII and I are looking into booking a Mexican getaway for next spring or summer...we'd like to go to Playa del Carmen & wondering if anyone has been and if so, any hotel recommendations. I've looked at the Royal Hideaway and Grand Velas; probably will do an all-inclusive. Any recommendations or tips??

Take a day ferry to Cozumel.. and you can shop, eat, and visit Margaritaville.

We went to Riviera Maya...stayed twice at the Palladium Grand. All inclusive. Very nice but on the quieter side, not a nightclubby sort of resort.

Stayed at the Royal 2 years ago. Excellent resort with fine beach ameneties.
Location was the biggest plus. Short walk to the Pedestrian only Avienda part of Playa Del Carmen. Other All-Inclusives may rival in ameneties but can't match the location factor.

I love Playa, tho I haven't been back in a few years. For June & July my son & his wife will be managing the dive shop at one of the Iberostars. Wish I could go again!
