Liz Clark and the Voyage of the Swell

Post by rmissbrook »

Remember Liz? She was the girl in Bora Bora who took Jimmy surfing when he was there. She is living on a sailboat and doing what 99% of us can only dream of doing.

Anyway, I have continued to follow her blog and find her to be the most amazing person. So thought I would remind you all about her and give you her link. It just makes me smile when I read her entries and see her pictures.

Hank Hill : Just in case I'm incapacitated for some reason, do you know how to start a man's heart with a downed power line?

Bobby: No.

Hank : Well, there's really no wrong way to do it.

There is a bit about Liz Clark at this site also. She is an AMBASSADOR for PATAGONIA. If you recall, Jimmy was on Radio Margaritaville with JD and mentioned that he was going to see his friend Yvon Chouinard at Patagonia while he was out west during his vacation.

Here is a link to the stories about Liz Clark.

http://www.patagonia.com/web/us/patagon ... setid=6128

One of her favorite quotes is from JB...
"I'd rather die while I'm living than live while I'm dead." - Jimmy Buffett

Another is from Yvon Chouinard...
"The more you know, the less you need." - Yvon Chouinard

Sorry, my eye sight is going. It's the July 8th entry about Bethany Hamilton and Carissa Moore. What amazing women, especially Bethany.

And then in the July 17th entry there is a link to Liquid Salt featuring an interview with Liz. Jimmy B is mentioned under her favorite artisits.

Thanks for this! I am totally enjoying Liz's writing, adventures, but most of all, her infectious spirit and enthusiasm for life! I think I will use this in school with my eighth graders when we do personal memoirs. Sure that it will inspire them! It's great to find positive role models these days in a culture that has become so apathetic and depraved.
I'm just tryin to get by, being quiet and shy, in a world full of pushin and shove
