I ran into a situation with another person on the board here, someone I considered to be a friend. I agreed to buy a ticket from him for the show at GW; when my employment situation became more unstable, I told him he should try and sell the ticket to someone else, but if he couldn't sell it by the time the show came around, I would find a way to pay him for it. It got heated and a little ugly between us, and when the situation finally got resolved, it certainly wasn't a best case scenario for either of us. I do like to think that the friendship has been saved, but I'll find out for sure when I see him in a couple of weeks. What bothers me is this:

From my end I had several people from here and else where contact me about the ticket, when I told them I sold it to you a few told me to be careful about you and pretty much said "Good Luck with him".... I was very surprised because I always viewed you as one of the good ones here, then when this s*** happened I thought "wow they were right, that SOB" ... so that is where I was coming from. Several people had some not so nice things to say about you

That's a quote from the last pm he sent me. Now, I don't pretend that everyone is going to get along with everyone else, and I certainly won't claim to remember everything I've said or done in my life, but I'm sitting here racking my brains trying to remember just what I've done to some people, including some people here on this board, that give them this impression of me, and what bothers me the most is that whoever you are, you don't have the courage to tell me, but you've got no problem telling others.

I'm sorry if I've offended or disappointed or hurt some of you. It was never my intention. And although some of you might be thinking that this is the height of being egotistical, starting a thread about what other people think of me, apparently there are people out there sh*tting on my name. So, if you have something to say about me, say it to me.

Jack, my take on this is the reason no one is coming forward is that there was no one.

My guess is that the person was trying to justify actions by shoving the blame to "someone out there somewhere."

I would take it with a grain of salt and Breathe in Breathe out and Move On...

One thing I want to make clear is I don't blame the person who had the ticket, nor do I think he's making it up. I've spent enough time hanging out with him at tailgates to know that if he were p*** at me, he'd tell me straight up and not lie about it. I actually appreciate his candor and straight-forwardness through all of this.

I don't know if I would, because I think it only gets you more involved in a situation than you need to be? because then you start hearing it from the people you named--"I can't believe you said that to him about me"--and ultimately it's not his responsibility. he's got more important things going on in his life than this petty sh*t. (And I know it's petty sh*t, but the only thing that ticks me off more than petty sh*t is how much I let petty sh*t tick me off. )
