Difference between California and Texas Governors.......

Governors of two states jogging with their dogs along a trail. Coyote
jumps out and starts to attack dog:

California:
#1. Governor starts to intervene and then realizes he should stop; the
coyote is doing what is natural.
#2. Call animal control. Animal control captures coyote and spends $200
testing it for diseases and $500 relocating it.
#3. Call Vet. Veterinarian collects dead dog and spends $200 testing
it for diseases.
#4. Governor goes to hospital and spends $3500 getting checked for
diseases from the coyote and getting bite wound bandaged.
#5. Running trail gets shut down for 6 months while wildlife services
conduct a $100,000 survey to make sure the area is clear of dangerous
animals.
#6. Governor spends $50,000 and starts a coyote awareness program for
people who live in the area.
#7. State legislature spends $2 million investigating how to better
handle rabies and how to possibly eradicate it.
#8. Governor’s security agent fired for not stopping the attack and
letting the Governor try to intervene.
#9. Cost $75,000 to train new security agent.
#10. PETA protests the relocation of the coyote.

Texas:
#1. Governor spends $1.23 on a .380 ACP Gold Dot Hollow Point and he
and the dog keep jogging.
And we wonder why California is BROKE…

I'd vote for this guy! We need a few more coyotes shot in PA by the way. They are in every county in the state including Philadelphia and Allegheny County were Pittsbugh is. There is no question they are hurting the deer and turkey populations in some areas. A pack of coyotes, having no natural predators here, can reproduce like rabbits. I missed one while deer hunting two years ago...they are tough to see and harder to hit running full tilt in the woods. (sorry - don't mean to offend any BN bunny huggers )

He has become a "better" dog than he was as a puppy (he's now 2) but I think it's fair to say he's the first and last Terrier we will have. We were always lab people and are just more comfortable with that kind of personality in a dog. As a watch dog to pay attention to what's going on outside of the house...the Terrier does a good job however so I guess he earns his keep.

I won't defend California Governor Schwarzenegger. He can probably look after himself.

But before I'll be impressed by Texas Governor Perry (running for re-election as well as for his health) I'll need some proof. I understand there won't be pictures. Trail jogging with a sidearm AND a camera would be a little much. Maybe a coyote skin or at least a tail?

Here's a little interesting side note to that story. If it wasn't for my good phriend and ex-nephew-in-law, Texas Land Commissioner Jerry Patterson, this story would never have happened. There was legislation to block any guns on Texas public lands and Jerry put the cabosh on that. This is not a political statement, so please, no pro or anti-gun comments. Just a little insight into being a resident here; it's a Texas thang.

I hate coyotes.. but still do not want one to suffer
