So I guess I am the only person who is dying to know why Jimmy sold the Palm Beach house and where he and Jane will be living next. I'm quite sure they won't be living in the two family house the paper said he still owns in Palm Beach. And I am also pretty sure that they won't be on Long Island all year round.

What Jimmy, or any other celebrity, does in his private life is none of my business. If he isn't doing a concert somewhere I don't care what he does or why he does it. Or where he lives.

We knew he had a house in Palm Beach so I see no big deal about knowing this.
I know it's trivial but we've had threads about what side he tucks to so it does not bother me.
For the record I did not participate in the "what side does Jimmy tuck to" thread.

It looks like a beautiful house - and Jimmy mentioned in his book what a great decorator Jane is! I'm thinking they'll stay in Florida - because they love the state - and because there is no personal income tax - and JB is a wise financial man these days!

Everyone is certainly entitled to their own opinion about what is "private" in a celebrity's life. But there certainly was nothing private about the sale of Jimmy's house. It was splashed all over the front page of the Palm Beach paper. And when he buys a new home that will be a public record as well. I was merely making some general comments.

To a certain extent, everyone is a public person, celebrity or not. Most records are public. I don't care to know where anyone lives, unless they choose to share it with me.

The house is no different from the shirts, cars, planes, boats, we find so interesting. We Just like to see what Jimmy is up to.

I have to admit I find his purchases, moves and what he decides to part with interesting. Jimmy is very much unlike me...he likes to change things a lot. I have a difficult time with change, so I find people who embrace it very interesting.

Had a quick look nothing for sale in my close, they won't be moving near me.

You can both the aerial *bird's eye* photos of the home
as well as the satellite photos. It's possible to zoom in and
see the entire house, beach, dock ... even cars parked in
the driveways in amazing detail. The bird's eye pictures are taken
from just offshore showing the water facing side of the home.

For the record ... MY HOUSE, your house, just about everyone's
house is out there for anyone to see these photos. It took me
only a matter of minutes to locate the photos of Jimmy's Palm Beach home
when I looked.

True, a town clerks office is a wealth of information if you need/want to take the time to look.
(Before any of you think I'm a stalker, I go to the clerks office occasionally to see who my competition is selling their loans to) And our local paper publishes monthly real estate transfers.

It's a major character flaw that I sometimes can't let things like this go. I think it was Penny or someone who sent me a cartoon during the last election about someone sitting up all night posting on different forums because "Someone on the internet was WRONG!!"

First of all, good for Jimmy and Jane for their investment in this house. They were able to sell it for four times more than what they paid for it.

Sales of homes are public record, and my thinking is this. Jane and Jimmy are almost done with one aspect of raising their kids and are entering into a new season of their lives. The kids, as far as I know, do not go to school in Palm Beach any longer, so the need for the home there may not be as great as it once was. If they are not there as often as they used to be then sell it. It's just one home that they are parting with. They certainly have other options besides the Long Island home.

Jimmy is a celebrity who has a large, devoted fan base. It seems natural to me that we're interested in what the sale of the Palm Beach house means. In my opinion, that interest is harmless as long as it goes no further than that. It's another bit of fun for us Parrotheads.

So let's have some fun. What does the sale of the house in Palm Beach mean?

I have no freakin' idea. The man doesn't call me when he makes a move, although I would appreciate it if he did. His kids, I think, are reaching the age where they are getting out of high school, so maybe the move has something to do with that. Maybe they are going to buy a different property in Florida, perhaps on the Gulf coast. Personally, I hope Jimmy maintains his connection to Florida, but that's my own selfish desire. More than that I hope that they do whatever is going to make them happy. Maybe they're going to purchase a place in the Bahamas or down in the Caribbean. I can't see the place in the Hamptons becoming a year-round residence for them. The man hates cold weather. However, it's interesting that the sale of the house coincides with their annual summer migration to New York. So that gives them several months to decide on what home to purchase next.

The point is we don't know. Whatever they decide to do, I wish them all the happiness in the world. And when they decide on their next move, it will be posted here on "Buffettnews" and we'll read about it and discuss it because we're Parrotheads and we're interested and that's natural and harmless.

PS I thought it was interesting that they bought the house for 4 million and sold it for 18 million, another example of how Jimmy got here. He's a terrific businessman.

PPS Maybe this represents a move back to the Keys. Maybe they're going to purchase a property down in the Keys.

One thing I thought was cool was the name of the Buffetts' real estate LLC - Sadeca - Savannah, Delaney, Cameron. My husband's grandfather did the same thing 50 years ago with his kids' names ... I know it's common, but my kids think it's the coolest that their grandmother's name is in the company name.

As far as the sale of the house goes, it'll be interesting to see where "home base" is ... maybe the coast of Carolina for Jane or down around Biloxi ... where I'd like to spend my 60's.
