Follow my heart or my head????

I feel very selfish and undecided and thought my phellow parrotheads would know how to steer my head in the right direction and follow my heart.

Here's the diddy: my parents and sister surprised the heck out of me back in february with news that in celebration of my big 4-0 in september, they rented a house for me in key west!!! I was totally shocked and floored and giddy with excitement.

So, now my head is thinking, do we still go because of the impending chances of an oil mess in key west? my heart says YES STUPID!! You go and make the best of a possibly bad situation. You don't know what's going to happen and they need all the support down there that they can get and we can still have an awesome time.

BUT my head is saying, since we still have time to cancel, maybe we should postpone the party.

So, is my head absolutely crazy or does my heart need to be broken and face reality that postponement might be the way to go?!

You don't go to Key West to swim in the ocean, you go for so many other things. GO!!!!

Go and enjoy everything. There are beaches on both "coasts" of Key West if you really need that. But Key West is so much more. Although I love spending time in the gulf, I can just as easily spend time in the Atlantic. And then there is the food, the bars, the architecture, the people, oh yes, the people, the conch, the cuban sandwiches, the key lime pie, El Siboney,k Five Brothers, the cemetary......oy, just freakin' GO!!!

Like some others have said..... that area needs the $$.
Everyone wants to know how to help in these kinds of situations,
and that is how.... Go, and spend some money and keep the
people in business!!! I never stepped foot into the ocean when
I was there....... and I love the ocean!!

have you seen them fishing sea otters out of the surf and huge trucks of Dawn detergent rolling down US1? If not... you're over-thinking.

Key West is truly where I've wanted to go for my birthday for years. Let the planning begin!!

In 56 yrs one thing I've learned is my head will mess with me 9 ways to Wednesday, but my gut feeling is always right on the money.....heart/gut....same thing. )

Don't think twice!! GO!! Go and enjoy every minute. Been there several times and for as much as I love the ocean we always spend time doing so much else. Go you won't regret it. You will also feel good knowing your one of the ones helping out the businesses there. Remember to take plenty of pictures. Then come back and post them here and tell us all about it!!

No matter what may or MAY NOT happen, I still say go. There are so many place to drink...er, I mean so many things to do that don't involve the water. And yes, they could use the money with so many people canceling out of fear. I have been 3 times in the past 4 years with my 4th trip planned for October, and I still haven't gotten to do all the things I have wanted to do yet. Have a great time!
