Parking Lot Full on Saturday at GW?

We had some friends show up late on Saturday and they claim they were turned away at the gates....no spots left. They had to park outside and pay.

When we entered at 1pm the gate kids did not check our tickets, which surprised me.
It seems many may have made it in without tickets required.

I did notice when entering the concert that the GW cul-de-sac had cars parked in it,
which was surprising...usually there are scattered motorcycles....but there were many
cars, including a black Avalanche right up on the curve as you enter.

Did anyone else get shut out of parking?

This is my (approx) 18th year of Buffett, mostly at GW, and I do not remember
the parking lot shutting down...maybe too many Coronas to notice.

After last years mess at the Saturday show with cars lining the grass divider between the entering and exiting lanes I was surprised they did not check for tickets either. Rumor had it they were going to and they were going to check cars as well to make sure the number of people in the vehicle matched the number of tickets... but we got there right at noon, and no one checked us. I was not aware they had to turn people away to outside the lot for paid parking. That is just wrong.

Jack & I were the first car in Saturday, and they did check our tickets....and we didn't have any yet, as we were getting them from other BNers later in the day.
As we drove up the driveway in my Wrangler, we were getting nervous. The kid held up his hand motioning for me to show our tickets, so I grabbed my BN tag and held it up....and he waved us through. Jack looked at me and said " I don't know what you just did, but that was AWESOME"

We showed our tickets as Dave had to find them in the back seat which was full of food, coolers and stuff to tailgate with.

I know on Thursday they were, on Saturday there was one big empty space between 2 lots and then the Premier parking lot was pretty thin but the RV lot more than made up for it. SO crowded.

No one made any attempt to check my ticket either day - isn't that weird because I was not that far behind you guys.

we were the first rv in the rv lot they checked out tickets, just waved them think we were in around 11
