I was watching CNN tonight and I saw that Jimmy was going to be on his show tomorrow (Wed I think)
Guess it was tonight (Thurs), and Anderson said part 2 is on Friday and part 3 on Monday!

I "think" it was actually scheduled for tomorrow (Thursday) but I don't know if it's been resceduled because of the show date being changed.

Yeah, it was scheduled for 10pm on Thursday. There isn't any mention on the 360 FB page that he is going to be on Wed. instead. I guess I will tune in tonight and find out.

Jimmy isn't on yet but so far this is very depressing. Our government and BP are apparently spending much more effort to cover their arses than fix the problem. Between that and red tape, this looks like it will be the most inefficient cleanup in the history of oil spills. Please Jimmy, fight the fight and do everything you can to shed light on the greed, incompetence and corruption that appears to be the federal government and BP. Between Katrina and this, New Orleans is so being punished by our government.

I get why the journalists want to have access; however I have issues with having access and not helping (one of the reasons I didn't pursue journalism in college.) So they are limiting access; what if a whole bunch of people just showed up to clean up the Gulf (not that we would have a clue; but I'm sure there are folks in the know that would guide us...)
I just don't understand why they can't cap the oil rig. If it were in Iraq I bet it would be capped by now.....

Well, tonight's show is now over. I'm obviously a huge Jimmy fan or I wouldn't be here but I love his passion about that area and his willingness to call BP out for the liars that they are. I think now what angers me the most is the governments handling of this because they are so in bed with Big oil that they are essentially big oil's beeotch. I know Buffett was a huge supporter of Obama so I'm dying to hear his opinion of Obama's handling of this and wonder if he has enough hair on his arse to criticize Obama if he doesn't agree with the president's response to this.

More of the interview tomorrow and on Monday..........
It did look desolate on the beach but remember.......a hurricane was blowing by.......and did you see people trailing him and Anderson Cooper on the beach.........I wonder if we know any of them......
I heard him say he was going to Pensacola to have lunch tomorrow and returning next week.....
And he was sure coughing a lot.......I wish someone had the sense to give the poor man a bottle of water......

Sorry Marty, no intent to pirate your scoop!
When I had looked to see if this had been posted I was not logged in and you have to be logged in to see anything in Submit News, for some crazy reason...

Stay tuned to find out who Jimmy calls liars!

Good interview, looking forward to the rest.
NPR also did a story on Jimmy today as part of a gulf coast story. They talked about the concert delay, interviewed Lucy, and talked about the show at LuLu's and had some audio clips from the show.
They have a podcast of the story at their website:

Margaritaville will survive
July 1, 2010
Jimmy Buffett was out walking on the beach in Gulf Shores, Alabama when we arrived for the interview.
"This is the beach of my misspent youth," he said, as we began to stroll along the water's edge.
A few kids played in the water, but the rough surf created by Hurricane Alex kept them from swimming. A thin line of tar balls had been left on the beach by the morning tide.
"You're not human if anger isn't the first emotion," says Buffett, who has long been involved in environmental causes.
Buffett's benefit concert in Gulf Shores, Alabama has been postponed until July 11, but he came here anyway and played at his sister's restaurant last night. He's trying to encourage people to come visit the Gulf.
"Can Margaritaville survive an oil slick?" I ask. "Sure, hell, we'll survive," he says quickly, "people on this coast can survive anything. I mean, it's another storm, it happens to be one we're not quite used to in terms of what it's leaving behind, but you know, this is hurricane country and people bounce back, and I love the resilience of people."
Buffett himself has just opened up a hotel in Pensacola Beach, not great timing he admits, but he is not surprised this spill has lasted so long. He says he didn't believe the early estimates put out by BP about the oil flow.
"You know what," he says,"I've been in show business a long time, I know liars when I hear them. I thought they were lying from the beginning. That's just me personally."
More of my conversation tonight on 360° live from the Gulf.

It's a small world. Anderson Cooper was in attendance at the memorial service in honor of Brig. Gen. Harry Aderholt (USAF Ret.) this morning held at Hurlburt Field. Gen. Aderholt was known as "Air Commando One". I wanted to have an opportunity to comment on Mr. Cooper's interview with Jimmy yesterday, but it wasn't an appropriate time. We can't wait for the remaining parts of the interview.

Can't wait to see more of Jimmy with Anderson Cooper again tonight. He seemed to stumble over his thoughts some, but I guess I can understand his careful choice of words...gave it that much more meaning. Obviously had a super rapport with Cooper.
Linda, I've noticed Jimmy doing that little cough a LOT lately on all the ustream things.

Hope it's just that he needs some water!!!!
NICE JOB, JIMMY!!!!
