DO NOT PUT AN AD THAT YOU NEED GS TIX ON CRAIGSLIST!

Post by Wildh2oskier »

So I have some friends, good hard core parrotheads that need tickets and they asked me to help them find some. So me being the super Jenius that I am posted a simple ad on Craigslist.

1-4 Jimmy Buffett Gulf Shores Tickets needed

And when you opened it it said: I am a simple parrothead in bad need of 1-4 tickets to the Gulf Shores show. I am not a broker/scalper/scumsucking a-hole (your pick) looking to resell them. I am merely trying to get them together for a group of friends.

I would loooooooove to post the replies that I have gotten. Some seemed sincere but after roughly 75 from scalpers/brokers/scum sucking a-holes I just began to tell them how I actually felt about their line of "work". I also offered other lines of work that they would be suited for.
Well needless to say I am glad that I set a yahoo mail account just for this and that filth is not in my regular account.

So people who are Legal ticket brokers can not work?

Your giving some pretty harsh words too. Remember Brokers are people too... They have families, kids, parents who need stuff. If you really want the tickets for your friend, you will be willing to pay the price.

If it helps you to vent, go ahead and reply to all 75, umm, *scalpers/brokers/scum sucking a-holes*.

But honestly, they could care less about your rants and will still keep your Yahoo email address on file.

Better to just let it go. Honestly. Are you really surprised? There are folks out there searching for tickets
and willing to pay a price to get them. Thus the market.

So do I but if there are morons who are willing to pay to go to a free concert.....
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

For the record. If my schedule suddenly permitted it and I could get away,
I would seek out and purchase tickets to this concert.

For the record I would pay for tickets to this show. If my money went to a man with a family who can't work his shrimp boat, or a woman laid off as a waitress down there etc. But I'm not going to give my money to leech who feels that it is ok to profit off of the troubles of others. There is little respect in scalping and there is no honor at all in selling these tickets.
But if you have them to sell and you have no moral compass and no belief in karma or just rewards in the here after then go ahead and sell'em. But don't do it in Alabama without a license. Its a felony and there are roughly 150 undercover agents hunting for scalpers @ the beach right now, so you will lose your tickets, your money and get to visit the pokey and pay a hefty fine. If your lucky.
I say if your lucky because the locals are p*** @ BP, the ticket distribution system and life in general. If the right one catches you making your blood money off of them well you will wish the cops caught you first.
Enjoy choking on your "Free Profit" honest ticket brokers. Because this is free money you really want to pass up.

I think you may have missed my point surfpirate. If it was proceeds going to the local families, I am willing to pay. However, since it was deemed a free show, I don't want to pay the scalpers.

I agree... I think the buyers and sellers are both wrong under these circumstances. Black and white to me.

Point taken. Then again, my potential mega-dollar spending tourist dollars
wouldn't attempt to go and overspend for hotels, meals, t-shirts, etc. in the area just to
stay true to a nearly impossible to determine distinction of identifying some moving gray line
separating legal brokers from heartless opportunists.

Plus I would miss the show.
