I can't imagine trying to explain to my grandparents ( they've been gone quite some time.....) they can not watch the Rose Bowl on New Years Day becasue it's on cable.
The Cotton Bowl used to be on CBS... NBC used to have games too.
Did ABC/ESPN buy out all the rights to the bowl games this year?
Heck I remember when there was a Cotton Bowl Parade, you'd stay up all night ringing in the New Years and then stand out in the cold to watch the morning parade to sober up. It went byebye for a few years. Last I heard it was something like the Coamerica Parade and it begins in the afternoon.
Or how about when the game was played IN THE COTTON BOWL and the Cotton Bowl offices were actually in Fair Park. Some change irks me.

I remember that parade!
I think this is the first year it isn't being played in the cotton bowl.
I remeber freezing my butt off there! Sooo cold and hungover. Good times for sure!

I'm nearly the opposite, I
LOVE the bowl games with a passion. Plenty of great matchups out there. LSU/A&M, MSU/Bama, Bucknuts/Hogs, TCU/Wisky, Stanford/Va Tech, Carolina Gamecocks/Noles, Canes/Irish, Vols/Heels, love it. But after Jan. 1 the way they draw the games out I'll begin to lose the passion & by the time the Title game comes around 9 days later it feels anti-climatic. The matchup this year is very intriguing but...........ah.......for the old days.......

Every New Years day we'd set up three TV's in the front room so we could have a game on each network. This was back in the late 60's - early 70's before cable and remote controll. The kitchen table was full of finger foods so we could watch football without being interupted by dinner time. Our entire extended family would get together to share New Years, watch college football and snack all day. Great memories!

That's twice now in less than a year
I think it sticks this time, at least for a short while. Look for him on College Gameday next season.

Well thats not good for LSU. the O-line is terrible and has given up 24 sacks this season. Hopefully the Defense will not be cocky and show up to play

Did anyone catch the division names for the new Big 10?
Leaders vs Legends? Really?
Isn't that like the reading groups they used to put kids in - the Robins and the Vultures?

Yeah, the whole thing is a big joke, from the division names to the new logo to the new names for 18 various conference awards. We thought for sure division names would be the (Great) Lakes & (Great) Plains divisions or something along those lines. Even the "BO" & "WOODY" divisions would have made some kind of sense.

It makes sense, since most of those Big Ten athletes are still in reading groups.
Horrible division names, horrible new logo. Other than that, they did great.
I read that somebody suggested the division names should have been "Rust" and "Corn".

Its pure garbage and the Big Ten probably spent millions paying a ad agency from New York filled with kids who went to Private schools that didnt even play Division 3 sports to come up with this abortion.
I would have been p*** at a "Bo & Woody" division but could have lived with it. This is just garbage, and then to kiss JoPa's ass with his name on the championship trophy when Penn State has only been in since 95.

Legend: a story coming down from the past; especially : one popularly regarded as historical although not verifiable
so at least as far as Minnesota being a 1-A school, that seems appropriate.
