Big Bend United Way Benefit Concert, Tallahassee, Fl. Feb. 2007

I had always said to my 'keets that I wanted to see Jimmy before I die. My oldest 'keet, Christin, heard that Jimmy was doing a show in Tallahassee. She and our other 'keet, Chelsea, got together and bought two tickets for my birthday. Cat and I were on a cruise on a stop in Puerto Rico. The kids called Cat and told her. She had to keep it a secret for the rest of the cruise. When we got home, there was a birthday card in the mail for me. When I opened it, there were the two tickets. Holy cow! What a show. After that evening, we have been hooked ever since. Living the lifestyle!

We walked up to the ticket window about 5 minutes before the show was scheduled to start, paid $8.50 for each ticket and got 11th row tickets! The band was great, but what hooked me was the acoustic set where Jimmy was on the stage alone! That was 33 years ago! I married my date 5 months later!!! We've missed a couple tours here and there because of babies and pregnancies but pretty much have seen him everywhere he has performed in the Philadelphia area. Here's a couple pictures of The Tower Theater. . .

It was 1975 and some friends invited me to join them at the Texas Opry House on Richmond Avenue in Houston, TX. After that show, Jimmy joined us via cassette (yes it was a long time ago) on every camping trip. I will be making my 15th visit with Jimmy and the Coral Reefer Band on October 23rd at my new home in Las Vegas after a one year hiatus due to damage to Cynthia Mitchell Woods Pavilion in Houston from Hurricane Ike.

At least you are not from Pasadena. During the Houston show he said he lived in a trailer in Pasadena once :P

1993 Chameleon Caravan - Jones Beach and every year since it's now up to over 30 something shows, Of course back in 1994 tickets didn't sell out in 3.5 minutes like they do nowadays. Actually used to stand in line at a ticketmaster outlet. Got introduced by an ex-girlfriend she didn't last that much longer but the Buffett experience still lives on! :pirate:

July 18th, 1977. Summerfest at Southern Illinois University. Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band opened for the Ozark Mountain Daredevils. I've burned lots of brain cells since then, but my main memory was a spinning, whirling, harp player in a white sailor suit (Fingers of course), and of a relaxed, grinning Jimmy Buffett. Totally blew a very good Daredevil band away.

And I also love the picture of the Tower Theater! I was stationed at Dover AFB from 1974-1976, and remember going there with a bunch of black friends from the base to see Earth Wind and Fire. I wasn't the only white guy there, but we were sure in the minority! Fantastic show, everyone was cool to us, and didn't sit down the whole night. Great venue to see a band.

People go to more than one show in a year? Wow, that's impressive.

1978 (might have been 1979) - King's Dominion Park outside of Richmond, Va.
$6.00/each and our college IDs got my gal and I into the park for all the rides and the concert as well.
Haven't missed a year without seeing Jimmy ever since.

<------- That *85+* number of shows over there gets less impressive when you
consider that averages seeing about 2 or 3 shows a year every year, almost
all in my backyard. I've only traveled twice for a show ... 2008 in Charlotte and 2009 in Frisco.

Heck .... I know a guy (Jackson Quigley) who traveled to every single show during the
Beach House On The Moon tour, then wrote a book about it.
A great, great book by the way; see link below.
