Game stat sheet in my morning paper shows.

McNabb sacked 5 times (35 yards)
Rodgers sacked 4 times (23 yards)

McNabb 26/49 357 yds, 1 TD, 1 INT
Rodgers 27/46 293 yds, 1 TD, 1 INT

McNabb, hobbled but with game victory.
Rodgers, concussion and game loss.

McNabb and the Redskins defense had the better game.
Not saying it was pretty ... but 4 quarters of play plus overtime ... the team that should have won yesterday .....

... did win.
My bad. I was looking at a box score and accidentally skipped down a line and read the number for punts, not sacks. McNabb got sacked five times and the 'Skins had 8 punts; Rodgers went down four times and the Packers had a total of six punts.
And I never said the 'Skins shouldn't have won. I was saying that the Packers don't appear to be playing up to their full capabilities and that's why the game ended up the way it did. Make out of it what you will.

I do have a question in that did someone on the staff know Rodgers got a concussion or was it missed as part of the heat of the game? I would like to know the answer, Bill, I know you personally may not have the answer for this, but it is something that you as a fan of the Packers should also ask if the coaching staff knew during the game.

Coach McCarthy held his usual press conference earlier today and said it happened on the last GB offensive play of the game, in OT, and I have no reason to doubt him. Here's part of the Q&A of the press conference where the question was addressed, taken from the Packers' website.

Q) Do you think Rodgers’ concussion might have been sustained earlier?
A) The concussion did occur on the last play. That thing was fairly evident, just based on the communication. There was no evidence or even talk of Aaron during the course of the fourth quarter. But he took a helmet-to-helmet blow there on the last play, and if you watch the tape, just the way he reacted and so forth, that’s when it did occur.
Q) What happened that let you know that he had one? Did he say something to Tom Clements?
A) When he came off to the sideline, however the mechanics of the medical staff, after that series, when our defense went out on the field, I was told Aaron Rodgers just suffered a concussion and was prepared for going with Matt Flynn on the next series.
Q) He has to see an independent doctor then?
A) There’s a protocol, and he’ll go through it just like we’ve always done, and we’ll definitely take the proper time and make sure he’s fully recovered.
Q) Is there a guy in town he can see for that or does he have to travel?
A) There’s a protocol that our medical staff goes through, and yes, there’s a doctor that we use.
Q) Is it possible he could miss the game this week?
A) Definitely. It’s definitely possible. I know at a minimum he’ll miss some practice time.

He also declined comment on whether he thought a flag should have been thrown for the hit to Rodgers, but said that as is usual procedure, a tape will be sent to league offices with their comments. McCarthy didn't say so, but I'm guessing those comments will contain at least a reference to the alleged helmet-to-helmet contact.

The Jests did their best to give the game away last night but Brett Favre couldn't pull it out.

Think maybe Brett Favre is wondering why he came out of "retirement" again for the 2010 season??????

Last night's game with the Jets was just another example of why a full-time career as a bluejeans spokesperson should be his first priority! Say "Goodnight" Brett.....

I can think of thirteen million reasons, just for starters. That's what he had coming on the second year of the two-year contract he signed when he first came to the Vikings.....plus whatever they offered him as a 'sweetener' to make sure he came back for the 2010 season. Then there's incentives depending on how well the Vikes do in the season and how deep they go in the playoffs; everybody knows about 'em but just don't know how large they are....plus his share of licensing fees on shirts and other merchandise.

There's no way he would be making even half that much money as a blue-jeans salesman.

I think he was a lot closer to retirement this year than the previous years but when he was visited in Mississippi, his mind changed.

Sanchez may still be a bit green (no pun intended) in clock situations,
but at least he's not standin' around watching punts get blocked like some high school team (Chargers "special" teams)

The NFL Network is reporting that Merriman will be cut by the San Diego Chargers after he gets off the Injured Reserve list.

Well, the Redskins pull out another victory. DeAngelo Hall tied an NFL record with 4 interceptions in one game. More importantly, the Redskins are 2-0 in the NFC East and 3-1 in the conference.

At least more importantly to us. And, if the Cowboys wins (which is a major if and every fiber in my soul tells me not to root for them), then we'd be tied for first in the NFC East and maybe even in first depending on tie breaking procedures.
