OK so I have been watching this issue and I wonder
why not just take some of the money spent..
host a few fishing tournaments and give that money as prize money..
sell the dead fish to the cat food companys (or make fish meal out of it)
might not wipe them out.. but it would be a start

Too bad someone can't figure out how to turn them into a high-priced delicacy. We'd fish 'em to extinction in no time.

Aren't they sold in Asian markets? I believe some people do eat them.

I think I caught that when I lived in Japan.

I don't understand why the locks were not closed. I have seen stories in the past about different chefs attempting to develop dishes with this fish. I have seen what koi can do to a pond I can just imagine what these carp will do to the great lakes.
