All the clubs in the area were given the word in advance to attend. How each club notifies I am not aware of but ours sent out our membership list email. For weeks we were waiting on this email as the rumor mill was churning. I was keeping my word by not saying anything until it was over. It is disappointing that not everyone could be there but Jimmy's people are clear in their actions that PH clubs get preference. As they say, membership has it's privledges. John a club and get along!

From what my PH club told me, the board was at Margaritaville this afternoon but was told not to release word until the appearance was confirmed, to ensure that the media and large numbers of people were not showing up.

However, by that time (3:30), it was too late for many of us. A phone call at 2:00 would have been enough.

Then when you start digging like we were the night before during the Barry Fish Band, you see Mac hanging around, Charleston there, the president of M ville.... You start to think.... This could be real. When you get to that point; you are sworn to secrecy....

Wow, first un-Buffetty, and now condescending....and just FYI, I belong to 2 PH Clubs, and most of the BNers from New England do too

And when that happens, it's polite to carry the secret forever, and not go around in days following trumpeting, "I knew something you didn't know!"

There was never any indication of that though...at least not to the bulk of the members.

A simple message like "meet at Margaritaville at 3 PM" or something would have been sufficient, we would have gotten the hint.

I would have gotten the info from here, and I'm honestly wishing I saw it. But I was out all day, and without any warning, can't make my life revolve around checking this site every day.

I'm not blaming those in charge of the organization, as I'm sure they tried their best. However, the outcome wasn't as we would have hoped.

Sorry for giving you the inside scoop. If you would like to believe he just pops up and no one knows then I am sorry I ruined it for you. The reality is the laid back life takes a lot of hard work and if anything I thought you guys would have loved to known how it all plays out in the real world of a fantasy land. When your club ship comes in I look forward to hearing you tell us, how it all unfolded for you and reveal just how you figured out where and when you should be there. Awfully pessimistic group we have hear tonight, very un Buffett as you would say.

Good Lord, are you kidding?? DUH, that he rarely just pops up. FYI most of us on this site know how it "really" is..... But there are ways of passing information without revealing sources or even specifics. Take your nose out of the air for a second and look around at this site. The info was passed by others earlier today, and as soon as there was a sniff. And then realize, Mr. Condescension, that most of us DO belong to PH clubs, and we share information.....

And (am I repeating myself?) if you choose to keep the information to yourself, keep it to yourself forever. Don't flaunt it later. It's rude....

And don't look at this as sour grapes from me because I couldn't have been there if I'd had 5 DAYS notice, never mind 5 hours....

Nothing against you personally...I am assuming you work there, and I know there's even a chance your job could be in jeopardy if you were found to have leaked information.

I know there is a lot of work put into making these shows happen. It's just disappointing that, for one, some members of PH clubs did not have enough advance notice, and two, that the small amount of people standing outside who didn't make it in time were not allowed into the restaurant, even though there was plenty of room on the patio and enough room inside the restaurant (could see a few spots through the windows).

I know it was for security reasons, but it was a little unreasonable if you ask me. It's not like there was a massive crowd of people. I don't understand not letting anyone in once the show starts...what's different about those people than the ones who were already in there? Was there some kind of security screening beforehand?

Another disappointing thing is that he probably won't be to the area again for years. I think we can all agree that a show in the area would be fantastic! I know he sometimes plays the ACC in Toronto, but that's at least 2.5 hours from Western New York, and not an ideal venue. Most of us go to Pittsburgh (over four hours away) every year. Unfortunately, I couldn't make it for the past few years. I would love to see him in this area though.

Anyone think there is a chance he'll be back in Niagara Falls?
