Re: Jimmy at Margaritaville - Niagara Falls???
Caly, was there a house band/another band before or after? Still wondering about that other guitarist on the stage but kind of assuming he's from another band?

Re: Jimmy at Margaritaville - Niagara Falls???
The band on right before Jimmy was the Barry Fish Band. They were amazing. 3 guys and a female drummer. They sat in with Jimmy for his and Mac's set and the girl on the drums was fantastic. She looked like she was having the time of her life.SchoolGirlHeart wrote:Caly, was there a house band/another band before or after? The band was the house band from Margaritaville in Panama City Beach.
I still can't believe yesterday happened. What a phantastic time was had by all in attendance.
Hung with a few BN'rs too

First, thanks to all of you who don't post on here but look at the site because of the moderators and haters. It was nice to receive your PM's. I will forward you the videos and photos.
Had a great time, met wonderful people and really would have thought you of all people would have loved to hear how it all played out. It is like everything, you can't please everyone and there will always be some haters out there. I hope another person like me comes along when their ship comes in to tell us (as much as they can) how they knew and how it all played out).
My apologize for the spelling, I was on the iphone and it doesn't seem to like my thumbs. Don't worry IrishPirate, I will join the grammar and spelling for whiny PH's as soon as I can!
Hahaha, have a good day people and try to smile more!

For the record ... I interpreted the posts as those
from someone who doesn't post often but was simply excited about
what they had just experienced and wanted to share (as I would have too).
I chose not to interpret the messages as smug or condescending.

Thank you surf pirate. I was not trying to be mug, or anything, really. I just lived out a dream and thought I could share how I did it.surfpirate wrote:For the record ... I interpreted the posts as those

Maybe my excitement was taken wrong and now I AM being smug because of the haters but that was not my reason for coming on here in the first place.
I visited the site daily, I only post when I have something really to say, my excitement was over the top and now everyone is a hater because I couldn't spill the beans.
Oh well, as Jimmy probably knows best, you can't please them all!

Be careful with broad generalities. Not *everyone is a hater*, etc. etc.Couganata wrote:Thank you surf pirate. I was not trying to be mug, or anything, really. I just lived out a dream and thought I could share how I did it.surfpirate wrote:For the record ... I interpreted the posts as those

I kind of see where couganata is coming from. When we were given the VIP passes in Gulf Shores, we were specifically asked NOT to say we had them until after the show. And to not reveal who gave them as well until after the show. I can understand that....

Is "hater" the latest word that all the cool kids are using?
I guess there's no room for people to have different opinions or like (or not like) different things anymore.![noeyedear-shrugging [smilie=noeyedear-shrugging.gif]](./images/smilies/noeyedear-shrugging.gif)

I'm glad there was a show, and I'm really glad my BN buddies Caly, More, Martyritaville, and any others, got to see this special show.
I wish we had had a little more notice, or that I lived closer and was not actually working, but them's the breaks.
Happy for you!!

Re: Jimmy at Margaritaville - Niagara Falls???
I wasn't counting songs, but I should chirp in and say Jimmy's first song was "Pencil Thin".
Regarding the drummer, Kim Trammell: Check out Jimmy giving her thumbs-up in Panama City Beach after her short drum solo at the end of "Brown Eyed Girl" in this low-fi you tube clip ....
Well, she got to play the same solo in Niagara... got to speak to her afterwards.... what a sweetie, not to mention one
of the best "in the groove" drummers I've ever heard.
Short of the Coral Reefers, I can't imagine a better backup band for Jimmy (and Mac) for such short-notice/small-stage shows than the "Barry Fish Band". The Bass player was spot on too!... http://www.barryfishband.com/players.html
Ms. Trammell... if you're lurking herein... gimme a holler... let's get married !

Re: Jimmy at Margaritaville - Niagara Falls???
That was the case yesterday. I didn't even tell my concert wingman and you all know he is like American Express, which incidently really isnt accepted much in Canada, I dont leave home without him! Believe me, that is going to cost me a LOT of beers, sorry Brandon!!!sunseeker wrote:I kind of see where couganata is coming from. With that said, it was truely a magical day. I got to meet/remeet some phriends I'd originally met at the Paris shows 2 years ago as well as hang with all my BN friends. I took a ton of pictures, below is one I posted in the other show thread from the rumors section. I'll post a few more when I get them cleaned up, cropped, etc.

Re: Jimmy at Margaritaville - Niagara Falls???
Coug, your excitement wasn't taken wrong... you just chose very poor wording, which indicated intent to exclude people.
Just by use of the word insiders you automatically exclude and alienate people, but that was small potatoes really.
The biggie was I didn't post it to make sure people didn't start putting the pieces together. Everyone probably would have been thrilled for you if you left that sentence out in it's entirety. Broadcasting that you intentionally excluded people isn't usually very well received.
The Coconut Telegraph is a fun and amazing thing... most everyone else in attendance was just as lucky as you to get a little advance notice... "psst, pass it on" is what gets those hotlines humming, as opposed to posting on BN that "a surprise show is going to happen Tuesday at 5". You could have even playfully posted a pic of you and Mac at the NF Margaritaville, which wouldn't have breached your oath of secrecy... what's the worst that would have happened? Maybe 20 or so people might have made the connection, and out of those, maybe a dozen could have pulled things together to make the trek on a whim, based on a mere hunch? Yeah, that would have been utter chaos and ruined the whole event.
So you see Couganata, you didn't create haters just because you couldn't spill the beans. No one else could or did either. What tarnished the sharing in your excitement was your choice of words. And as you subsequently admitted to, after initially ruffling those feathers, you became smug and flippant, throwing insults and broad generalizations in your defense. Then you "took your ball and went home", saying that you'll PM pix and videos to your BN Underground supporters, instead of sharing with the class.
As first claimed, very un-Buffetty actions. But glad you enjoyed your thrill of your lifetime all the same!
I hope you can see why your initial post ruffled some feathers.Couganata wrote:Just got back, insiders were tipped off this weekend of the event. Amazing to be so close and see him in a bar, truly a dream of mine. Mac was there last night and I pics with him. I didn't post it to make sure people didn't start putting the pieces together. Videos and photos to follow.
