Same here, I really don't like westerns at all, 2 exceptions both mentioned here, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (after all they were both in their prime in more ways than one) and Blazing Saddles. But I generally find westerns pretty much a snooze fest.

Movies are movies, and (to me, anyway) are meant to be entertainment. If you want to send a message, try the Post Office.

So, what's your take on flicks such as The Unforgiven, Dances With Wolves, etc. Should they have never seen the light of day? On the "revisonistic" front, how do you feel about Deadwood, which attempted to portray life in the wild West more realistically than any "Western" ever made? Shoot they have stuck to the standard shoot 'em ups of yore?

Has anyone mentioned the Trinity Boys movies yet? If not, I am.

I'll watch any western made before 1970 that doesn't have Jimmy Stewart in it. The stuff made after 1970 starts to drag in political bias and are less historically accurate.
