BUFFETT SONG PHRASES IN EVERYDAY LIFE

Has anyone found that there are times when a phrase from the mundanes is actually a line from aBuffett song and when you hear it you mentally supply the next song line? As in - Everyone and all the ads are talking about the "Labor Day weekend" and we keep continuing with - "show. I've got my Hushpuppies, on guess I never was ment for glitter rock and roll."
It certainly can make a day much more interesting....not to mention phun.

While not quite a Buffett Song, any time someone in our house says "hot" (food, pavement in the sun, etc.), it becomes...."Singin, Hot, Hot, Hot!"

Since that is the lead intro into the start of Jimmy's concerts, it counts, we'll take that.

i read this backwards. I was thinking what Buffett phrase I would take to my everyday life, and i have 6 words:
"Breathe in, breathe out, move on."

If it reminds you of JB it counts!!
Agreed! If it takes your head to a JB place, it definitely counts.
And the salt line is funny. Any time my hubby or I see salt, or someone says it, one of us is bound to chime in with "salt, salt, salt." I guess you could say you know you're a parrothead when ... someone says salt and you begin the little triple chant

Is this why some refer to us as a "cult" haha. I disagree with that. I think it's just that, unless you are a parrothead, and understand the parrothead/beach culture, you just can't get some of our and/or Jimmy's references.

I have a 17 month old daughter. Whenever she gets her fingers into something that she's not supposed to, my wife and I call her "Fingers Taylor" as in "Finger Taylor is in the fridge again".

I usually start the sentence, "In the words of one of our great (philosophers, poets, song writers... what ever seems to come out) there's no dumbass vaccine." Works really well in big meetings too

I teach in a small liberal arts college. Whenever I make a "profound sounding" statement, I preface it with "in the words of that famous philosopher...James Buffett". They all "get it" then!!
Also, when my 18 year grandson old graduated from high school last spring, he used the graduation gift ($) that I gave him to sport a large new tatoo...which I immediately announced to him was sure to become a "permanent reminder of a temporary feeling"!!!!! He got that one, too!
